Why Does Everyone On Here Hate Jim Delaney?
Outside of thinking that Rutger and Maryland don't belong in the conference, what are the reasons Michigan fans hate the guy? I realized today that I was happy that he is retiring in 2020...but I can't list the reasons.
Either I forgot why I don't like him (I've blocked football out of my brain since we lost to OSU so this is likely), or I always just took everyone's word for it.

For me it was like his 2nd year on the job. He called the head official for the big football game that year to decide the B1G title ... it was Illinois vs Michigan. He f-ing told the head guy to throw the game to Illinois. Head guy went quasi-public with that shit. Bo found out and called Delany out. Ever sense then we have received the short end of every Delany decision.
Delany is a manipulating f-ing son of a bitch. He would burn in Hell if I was his maker.
Plus ... over his entire tenure he strong-armed every school against Michigan. My source says it was heavily influenced because he was turned down from Michigan's law program. He is a North Carolina law grad that could not get into Michigan' law school which was his #1 choice. Biased SOB. Snake oil salesmen. Greedy slime. Thank GOD he will be gone.
Yeah, didn't that head ref resign in protest? Can't think of his name. He commented on how what Delaney was doing was not fair to the game, not fair to the kids.

Correct - head ref resigned and Jim Delany ultimately went on to make $20 million per annum in compensation. JIm Delany is the ultimate scum bag.

There are no "coherent" discussion points regarding Jim Delany. He is an f-ing SOB that has hated Michigan for his entire tenure. This is our chance to dump that biased shit SOB and get real leadership at the B1G.
Jim Delany is a blood sucking leech which someone needs to burn-off at the source of the latch-on point.
Shit I'm still mad at him over the old divisions where Michigan had to beat Ohio State as a cross division rival while everyone else in their division had way easier yearly cross games. "Yeah, the biggest game of the year for the conference is The Game, let's water that down by potentially having a rematch a week later in an NFL stadium"
Adding those two schools on top of that move told you everything you needed to know about Delany. Didn't give a rip about the conference's history, and in an era of conferences adding members, didn't think about adding schools that would add history to the league. Why not target Oklahoma instead of the putrid crap they added? If you're going to add to the league, why not try to ADD great rivalries instead of adding doormats that contribute little?
