Whoever is controlling the in game music needs to be fired

Maybe I'm just frustrated with that performance but HOLY FUCK. Whoever is working as the stadium DJ has no idea how to hype up the crowd. Probably will get bolivia'd for this but needed to say it.

They played Despacito.

Not much that can be done when the MMB apparently just capitulates to the game management people who tell them when and how much they can play.

Again, it's time the MMB stands up for itself. Play anyway. People are going to react to The Victors if you play it over Build Me Up Buttercup.

100% agree.  It sems like a diss to me that you have a live band then proceed to play pre-recorded music instead.  It's like telling the student section to be quiet while recorded crowd noise and cheers are piped in.

M is tradition, and the tradition is the MMB.  Turn off the pre-recorded crap and let the band play.  Let the students play.

Full disclosure: I am the parent of a MMB member.  Let the band play!

I mean, you'd think they didn't have one of the most tradition-laden and beloved marching bands in college sports just sitting there in the stands...

It's time for John Pasquale to stand up for the Michigan Marching Band and the tradition of Michigan Football.

Well, in my section, there were a few weirdos that probably were thinking "Shattered Dreams" by Johnny Hates Jazz was an appropriate song, but then a few others would go "Five Hundred Miles" for Michigan football and do. Still, some of Speight's passes inspired some of us to shout "Relax".....I mean, there are so many ways you could DJ these games....

I wasn't thrilled with the music, in other words, but I am older than the target audience.

TIred of hearing the idiot music.  Let the damn band play.

Threadjack:

Went to get some rage calories just as the second half started.  Listened to the XM feed.  Brandy continues to be absolutely brutal on the play by play.  Love the guy...but he can't call a game worth a damn.

I guess it depends on why and how you're listening.

When I'm watching the game on TV and listening to their broadcast so I don't have to hear Brock Huard, all I really need or want is a couple of color guys because I can see what's happening. (What I really need is a delay that would sync the two broadcasts, but that's a problem for another time.)

But in the car when I really need someone to describe it to me, they aren't good. Thankfully that need only arises once every couple of years or so.

And if they're gonna play shit, play some damn rock, preferably some not to generic shit when we're on defense. Like when they played that Michigan Defense video and then played Enter Sandman, that's fine. But it doesn't need to be playing before every damn kickoff or during commercials.

Old people holding the young people back from changing things for the better. We have it in my office and we have it in Ann Arbor.  That's why the music sucks and the atmosphere provided by the university is so stale.  That's why you have two bumbling old fucks doing the commentary for IMG.  You have to be a minimum of 73 years old to think that they are any good.
