Who would win?
This season has been an extremely painful one, so much so that I have not been able to force myself to watch the games. I have become so accustomed to winning seasons thru the years, that this one is difficult to accept as reality. I want to wake up from this nightmare.
One item that goes around at work is who is worse....the Wolverines or the Detroit Lions? If they were to play a game against each other, who would win? Some say the Lions because they are supposed to be professionals, more mature and experienced. Others say Michigan would win because the Lions are really that bad. I wonder if the best Michigan high school team could beat either of them.
When I watch a Lions game, it isn't just what happens on the field that is bad, but it is also obvious that the coaching absolutely horrible. The responsibilty for the Lions poor performance can be traced throughout the entire organization, right up to the owners.
With Michigan, I am hoping that this really is a rebuilding year and learning experience. It certainly has been embarrassing. I dread the final game when I have to put up with the OSU fans at work.

No person with any semblance of intellect would suggest that any college team could beat any NFL team. There are 119 teams in Division I and each has an 85 player scholarship limit. There are 32 teams in the NFL and each has a 53 man limit. The best of college players (and by that I mean Heisman winners) often accomplish nothing in the pros (see: Ty Detmer, Andre Ware, Archie Griffith, Jason White, etc.). Even when Michigan is good, they would get their asses handed to them by every NFL team.

Calvin Johnson would destroy any high school team just by showing up.. and really, do you think trent, warren, or cissoko could cover him if all they did was start chuckin it up? I call it the Calvin Johnson Factor, Calvin Johnson - Reggie Ball = pure win (there is a flow chart somewhere that shows that reggie ball as somehow infiltrated the Lions organization and thus the Lions are not lavished with super bowl rings already) ..
Calvin Johnson is like Braylon Edwards, but without the drops and I dont think any team in michigan could handle that..
just my opionion

NFl teams are far superior to NCAA teams. In example of undefeated Penn State's 22 starters, how many will actually one day become starters in the NFL? Probably 8 tops if they are lucky. How many will become starters their rookie year? Probably 2 tops if they are lucky.
The Detroit Lions would crush the Nittany Lions. The size of the Lines are very noticeable and Penn State would get killed in the trenches.

This same thought went through my head during the 2nd half yesterday. I would guess 80-17, depending on how long TT plays at full intensity for. Plus or minus 14 points margin of error for both teams.
