Who will go to a recruit's high school games?

Submitted by Coldwater on
Ok, we are all crazy Michigan fans here, we love the team, love to follow recruiting and following the lives of 16 to 18 year old boys..... But who is fanatical enough to go out on a Friday night or Saturday afternoon specially to watch one of Michigan 2010 verbal commits? Who's gonna check out Devin at Inkster? Who going to a Livonia Stevenson game hoping Austin White rushes for 300 yards? I will read the paper and this site for updates on their Senior season, but I just can't stalk them enough to go to a high school game

I second that, I want to see Gardner once this fall, might as well be when EMU has its largest stadium audience of the season.

I would gladly attend CFL, XFL, Arena, NFL Europe, high school, middle school, or Pop Warner games. Throw a football at the wicket and I'd watch the Ashes. But once there's college ball being played? Nope.

Since my nephew plays for Pioneer, i will be going to many games. Of course, i would be going even if Ricardo was not there. So, I don;t feel creepy at all.

I actually went to a few Massillon games for reasons other than watching Justin Turner. If you are a football fan close to Massillon or Canton you need to see Washington vs. McKinley.

Especially if gardner plays in one. Probably won't see many HS games outside of that though. Coincidently, in HS, I was one game away from having to attempt to block brandon graham. Its probably for the best that I didn't have to, I might not be here.

And I often let which teams have D-1 recruits make my decision for me as to what game I will see, but I usually just follow one or two local teams. My favorite around here is Largo, whose coach is named Rick Rodriguez. Dexter McCluster, who wildcatted Florida to death with Ole Miss last year, was a RB there. They are our county's best hope for a State Championship, though the county in general is probably a year or two away from being able to "get out of the reigon." Anyway, there's nothing like paying $5 for a ticket, $1 for a hot dog, and $1 for a coke or coffee and wathing kids play for the love of the game for three hours.

The Inkster v. Pioneer game on the 28th is pretty compelling b/c of being able to see Miller and Gardner in the same game plus its at a bigger venue so it feels less creepy. Then there's the whole can't wait to see some football thing to deal with. I'm planning on lying to my wife so she's none-the-wiser Austin White is the one I'm debating. I can basically walk over to Stevenson to watch him play but as you say, it's a little weird. Ah, who am I kidding? I'm totally going! At least for a couple of games. I'll just have to scrub my body with a pumice stone and bleach to get rid of the residue of creepiness. I'm sure it'll be well worth it.

....and I live a mile from Roseville High School (near St. Paul). On Thursday, September 17th, I will be going to the Cretin-Derham Hall - Roseville game to watch Seantrel Henderson. Yes, I will be wearing my Charles Woodson jersey.

I have a 4 year old son and I was thinking about taking him to see an Inkster game so he could see a future Wolverine play. I am not going to camp out and try to get an autograph or anything like that, though.
