Who benefits if the weather is rainy / drizzly?
Assuming that the weather at game time is either rainy or that earlier rain makes the field somewhat damp, does this benefit Michigan or ND? Does the rain have more of an impact by slowing down our running, or more of an impact by making it harder for ND to air it out?

I think the rain is going to cause loose soil. While some say, like yourself, that the rain will play right into the grass' style of play, I have to disagree. I don't think the grass has nearly as substantial of a root system as the experts are saying. I think last week it showed some signs of weakness in that department that went largely overlooked because of the opponent. I'm guessing the rain is going to be the losers of this affair

You are ignoring the history of the grass vs. rain series. The grass has consistently owned the rain over the last 3 million years. If you'd learn to use Google, you wouldn't embarass youself on a public forum.
Yea, once in awhile the rain springs a surprise like in the 40 day Noah flood, but that is an exception. You, and idiots like you, assume a trend based on a sample size too small to be statistically significant. I'd neg you -1000 if I could for wasting my time with your moronic opinion.

Rainy conditions favor the running game because its harder to tackle and catch. One caveat is that it also makes fumbling easier.

While at first glance, it may seem that ND would suffer more as they run more of a vertical-ish attack than Michigan, or at least that is what they have the personnel for at this point. However, Michigan's spread requires precision in terms of timing of fakes, handoffs, certain blocks, and short passes into the flat. All of these things are made more difficult by a wet ball. It cuts both ways almost the same.

but maybe ND really focuses on Denard's running and makes him pass. This may hurt Michigan.
However, since ND passes like 60% of the time, maybe the ball is harder to catch on those short screans, so they would drop the ball more.
On the other hand, Michigan historically under RR has not followed the advice of HOLD ON TO THE DAMN BALL.
Basically, it's difficult/ impossible to tell before the game, but afterwards, it may be clear.

The team that wins. Post game nobody ever says that the losing team had the advantage in the rain. Most people use it as an excuse if there is a big upset or their team didn't win.

I have to laugh how, for the second consecutive time in this series, ND fans are going to get soaked, while we've had beautiful weather for the games in Ann Arbor for several times in a row.

Both teams are playing in it, so it effects them both equally. It's the team that lets the weather get to them that will ultimately fail. Hold on to the damn ball and we'll be fine.
