where do we go from here? How do we support this team?

Submitted by jdon on

Next week our team is going to come running out of that tunnel and we are going to need to be there to let them know that we are in their corner.

Yeah, the season is fucked right now, and our coach should be fired, but this is Michigan and one bad season, even at the end of six bad years, won't bury us just yet...

What can we do, to make a mark, to make a statement, that losing sucks but we are a family?

I am thinking a simple 'we are family' cheer.

It wouldn't be that hard to start and it could have a profound impact.

Anyone else think we could make this happen?

ps. like they say its darkest before dawn...

If you're a fan of this team you will stand by it's side even in it's darkest hour.  If you don't do that how do you consider yourself a fan?  It's the very definition of badwagon fan and will not allow anyone to brand me with that label.  I will wear my Michigan gear today and wear it proudly.  If you can't find it in your heart to do the same today, or a week, or 2 weeks from now, then find a new team because you're not a fan of this one.

We don't.  I feel no obligation to support this staff or these players. I know that sounds shitty, but I just don't.

We still hold the series total and nearly won the overall cap in their fucking stadium.

We got fucked today.

Who gives a shit.

(I'm super good at this, I should be a grief counselor).

Hoke can still win his job.  He probably won't.  But he could.

(don't get me wrong, I easily said enough tonight to get me excommunicated).

Stop being an ass. No matter what you think about the quality of the play, there was not a single player out on the field who wasn't trying his hardest.

On the last drive, no one was phoning it in, especially Devin Gardner.

If you're not the guy out on the field, shame on you turning your back on these young men who want EVEN MORE than you to win this game.

I plan on bitching for 24 hours and then being optimistic again.  Since the rest of the conference pretty much sucked as badly as Michigan did today, this could still be a 10-win season.

It's hard for people not to vent after what we all saw tonight. Then we (at least most of us) will be back to cheering for Michigan. But we can't ignore the very real challenges this team has.

I know how you're feeling. I'm trying to convince myself that this is just one game that's historically a toss up that happened to not go our way this time and we are 1-1.

Losing to Notre Dame wouldn't have been bad...but god the way we lost just screams doom and gloom for the year. That hasn't happened yet though. Remember those old seasons of Michigan's past (think years like 2007 with the Horror and Oregon) where the sky seemed to fall in the beginning and then we ended up having a respectable year? That's why I'm still supporting our team.

The largest thing I've felt has been missing from our teams in the past five-ish seasons is improvement. We don't seem to get better as the year goes on.....if that happens this year though we may be okay!

Yay?

It isn't their fault at the end of the day. They are mostly all top recruits who figured they'd be able to dominate their compeition. They didn't know what they were getting into.

I am finding it more and more difficult to support something that is run so poorly. The kids work hard, but I disliked the Hoke hire from day one. He's not the man for the job. He's inarticulate and has vastly underperformed. It's the same old stuff. I feel like I could write five paragraphs on how frustrated I am and what I don't like about Hoke. But it's all been said before.

At least we have Beilein.

This is is my feeling since 2008- Now we have a problem. The program is run by a deluded in"duh"vidual - and that's not counting his marketing major boss. I doubt that Brandon has the ability to rationally hire an appropriate candidates. Huffing and puffing is over. The long fall of mediocrity awaits.
