When did UMBIG11 become Shawn L Martin?

Submitted by Dillon on

UMBIG11 used to be calm and insightful, now anything he has posted since the season began has been nothing but negative or expressing pessimism on the outlook of the season.

Can we all just leave the hot takes at the door. Teams evolve throughout the season, see PSU in 2016.

Just relax.

No offense to him or other "insiders" but i think most here are tired of hearing one thing and seeing something else. Bluevod on Twitter is the worst.  Posted last month this defense will be better than 97. Uh huh

I’m at the point where I don’t think anyone can handle inside information anymore.  Anything good brings expectations too high and anything negative breeds 300 post hot take threads.

We should all probably just go back to watching football for 3-4 hours on Saturday and get on with our lives for the rest of the week.  Yes, this post is directed at myself as much as anyone else.

its not just insider information, there are always delusional fans that will hype people up. I remember seeing fools saying Gentry was gonna be the best QB on our roster before he even ran out on the field for the first time. you heard it preseason with Milton. People believe what they want to believe and they will do whatever mental gymnastics to get there.

I agree that he and everyone else is entitled to their opinions. However I don't really see the extreme negativity from some around here to be warranted. There have been some rough spots, but Michigan looks like the 2nd or 3rd best team in the B1G right now, with a chance to beat anyone in the league. The defense has been slightly underwhelming after being faced with sky-high expectations. I suspect some of the issues there (and there aren't a ton of them) will sort themselves out over the season. The OTs have really been the only major issue on offense and look like they're getting better (albeit against worse competition, but still). Will they improve enough for us to truly contend? I don't know. But we are far from dead in the water both within our conference and nationally.

Let the season play out. No, we haven't looked like world beaters from week one. Anyone who thought we would was fooling themselves.

GOD DAMN UMBIG11 AND HIS OBJECTIVE OUTLOOK ON THINGS.  GOD DAMN HIM FOR NOT SEEING EVERYTHING ROSY AND USING FACTS, LOGIC AND ACTUAL INSIDE INFORMATION TO FORM OPINIONS.

AND NOW THAT ASSHOLE REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE WE ARE GOING TO WIN EVERY GAME 50-0 OR BETTER FROM NOW UNTIL JESUS RETURNS AND IT'S ROYALLY PISSING ME OFF.

FUCK THAT GUY.

Most people who post on fan boards don't come for realistic discussion, they come to waive the pom poms and talk amongst each other how great everything is, that way they can't get hurt or upset when reality is drastically different.

Ya know...Once upon a time, on a blog far, far away from here, people would engage in sophisticated, well-informed discussions about the status, prospects, and future of Michigan sports. It was a magical time where posters literally took on iconic status; content was rich with insight; and, a community of user-governed participants laughed together, cried together, and got “e-drunk” together.

I wonder whatever happened to that place?

Ch. 50 was like a kids cartoon Mecca! Kimba, speed racer, banana splits, ultra man and the ghoul before Ron Sweet moved to ch.20. Plus, all the old 60s tv show reruns. Ch.9 had the friendly giant, mr. dress-up, new adventure of pinocchio and the land of oz.
