When are we gonna beat Ohio State again?
Today at work, I was watching highlights of our last win against Ohio State (2003), and, of course, one of my coworkers (an OSU fan...) begins taunting me and saying that Michigan will not have a chance of beating OSU until 2011 at the earliest. Of course, I initially dismissed him, but then I began thinking: when the hell are we gonna be competitive with them again? Every year, I'm always confident that we can beat them, but it's been 5 f***ing years, for Christ sake! When will the pieces be in place for this to happen?

Next time we score more points than them.

HOW CAN YOU CAN BE SOOOO SURE OF YOURSELF?!? DAMN, YOU ARE ARROGANT! TATE IS A FRESHMAN. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO TELL IF HE CAN BEAT TP AND O$U; HE HASN'T EVEN PLAYED A COLLEGE GAME YET!! I HATE HOW PEOPLE ARE SO HOLIER-THAN-THOU ON THIS BOARD ANSWERING QUESTIONS THAT NO ONE KNOWS THE ANSWER TO! GOD I HATE THIS. PEOPLE ARE MORANS. GO BACK TO BLOWING THE SUCKEYES, TROLL.

This is a website, consisting of - to my knowledge - no players. Just people with a gazillion different opinions (or epinions, whatever). That is the nature of the site. It is what we do. Express our opinions, optimistic or otherwise. We are going to be hopeful. If you dislike arrogance, how about this one especially for you:
Tate has super-human powers and if he leaves college early it will be to become a member of the X-Men to fight crime and save humanity with his scrambling and passing skills. He could knock a purse thief's head off from 50 yards away! So, it almost goes without saying that he is going to lead us to a Nat'l title this year with the best passing stats of any QB ever. Hell, the NCAA may cancel next season and give us that trophy too!
BOOYAH!!!
Sarcasm sensor, check it.
Still not seeing it.....how about some help. Is it the all caps? Seriously, gimme a hand here. And where can ye be gettin wun of dem carnfangled sensory-type thingers?
Seen enough of his comments, plus who he's replying to if you rllyrcreal.
All sarcasm. If you thought my above post made sense, well, you're the type of poster I was mimicking.
I can't remember calling Tate the next messiah, or whatever. But if I did, thanks for calling it out. I surely would not like to set lofty expectations of any winning record, ever. I like 3 - 9, keep it right there. Maybe we should let the other teams chasing our all time wins catch up a bit. You know, give 'em a sportin' chance 'n all.
Was that the kind of poster you were after??
Or maybe try sarcasm with a little more relevent humor. Or not using all caps. It's hard to find sarcasm, or intended humor (the point of sarcasm) in side of a child's screaming fit.

Could be this season for all I know. I don't expect it right now but who knows how much better the team will be and how well OSU will be playing.

We're not winning again until TP is gone.

5/13 TP? i'm not sure why you think he's this unbeatable QB, i'd be much more concerned if he were playing WR.

TP and Justin Boren will put two Golden Corrals and three Bonanzas out of business this summer. TP will gain even more weight than he already has. In Tressel's dull, unimaginative pro set, the larger, slower TP will become an easy target for opposing LB's and DE's.
By the time the UM game comes around, TP will be playing through nagging injuries. UM's defense will have finally gelled under GERG, and Forcier and Robinson will have become a very good QB tandem, with Forcier taking most of the snaps and Robinson coming off the bench as a wildcat who can throw once in awhile.
Nick Sheridan will have refined his clipboard skills to a point where he is a sideline juggernaut, and will be rewarded by being allowed to take the knee on the last play.
Forty years later, the score remains the same:
UM 24, OSU 12.
"Slower TP"? ok...
I like knowing I can always count on you for a hearty LOL

theres no telling when we beat osu. in the 90s, I would have to say Ohio State was the better team more the we were, but we surprised them a lot. just like 1969.

I think there's a chance we beat them on the Friday game, but it's really tough because OSU is a hitting machine. And don't even get me started on their closer Hale. The guy made the cut for the Stopper of the Year for a reason. The fact he's been moved back to the bullpen speaks volumes to their starting pitching staff. I still contend we can take one of the three games from them in May.
Lets see how many people I can throw off with that post.
How do you even manage to keep up to date with baseball? It just seems like so much work.

It kind of is. Add on top that I spend most nights we play umpiring high school games and it becomes a reliance on Google Alerts, box scores, weekly releases, newspapers, and Other Chris for information. The AD's office is pretty good when I ask questions as well. The baseball assistant AD has offered feedback early in the season.

could be this year i guess. no one knows where our ceiling is or where tOSU's floor is. i hope they meet and then we have an even game at least
2010
seein' as we haven't played a game yet, but if Tate plays in real games as he did in the scrimmage, it might be this year. I know the D wasn't up to snuff but Tate still made great reads/decisions/throws and that was all him.
