The recent King of Belch demise has made me wonder who else has plunged a thousand points or more in the boards illustrious history?

Bouje and R_Mahorne had some epic negbangings. Section_1 or whatever his name is took a gigantic plunge. I think that BlueFront guy (Apologies if this is wrong) the guy who started the post about his brother in laws cousins gardener heard RichRod swear got banged hard too.

When I first discovered Mgo, Blue Front had just posted his " Baby's momma's uncle herd Rich is a guy who cusses" artical. This guy recieved a royal and deserving ass reaming. The responses from the bloggers to his B.S were hysterical and justifiable, but most importantly correct. The veiws and opinions on this blog definently make it one of a kind.

It's a demise? Losing points could mean little more than a whole lot of people disagree with you--such as my simple suggestion that Rodriguez made a mistake when he inserted Robinson on the final drive of the Iowa game. I've said it before and I'll say it again: the plus or negative thing is no way to gauge a poster, and whtever intent was there to use it has degenerated to little more than a popularity contest that doesn't matter one bit. I am now at a status where I cannot initiate content, which is no big deal because I arely do, and cannot "rate" fellow posters, which again isn't important because I primarily rated guys on wit, comic value, and writing style. I rarely neg banged other posters unless they were redundant, or could think of nothing to say besides "XXX is a douchebag" But alas, the OP once again ignores the rule that points shouldn't be discussed. You should post for your OWN good and not to secure the warm fuzzies from an audience that is both irrational and schizophrenic at times.

I've not been a member all that long but it appeared like a demise to me. Your posts resembled what you see when reading comments on ESPN, just a random D-bag trying to be as outrageous as possible. It's been great to read well thought out responses by very inteligent people. Acting like it's all a big popularity contest after the fact doesn't take into account the ridiculous comments that had no bearing on the actual posts... I think you may be the schizophrenic.

I disagree on that one. The point system does often merely reward those who agree with the majority. Though it *should* be an indicator of the quality of the post, it instead sometimes solely reflects partisan opinions and peoples’ wooden (and at times frenzied) beliefs. For example, in the thread that (I think) killed King of Belch’s points (Observations on the Iowa Game) his posts were clearly the best of the bunch, regardless of whether or not you agree with his outlook.

For the people who don't know, King of Belch was Barking Sphincter (and Duke of Discharge). I find a lot of people missed that fact. He's generally against most of the mainstream ideas. Nothing wrong with that. It's just his method of expressing his views that get him most of the negatives.

I was not the "Duke of Discharge"--I was never banned as the KOB, dufus! Why would I need a second ID to post under at the same time KOB is perfectly postable? Doesn't make sense. But to your other point--yes, I have an abrasive tone--but it is abrasive because I go against the grain much of the time. If I didn't, hell, I'd be in the Michigan E-Man Hall of Fame!

I was referring more to the fact that for a few hour period it didn't matter which post you clicked on there was a comment from King of Belch that was completely random. I know it was probably his way of proving a point, but to come back and act like the only reason you were neg'd was for offering different opinions is not completely accurate.

Does anyone remember the creepy pedophile lawyer. I think he got in an argument with someone from WLA (Dex??) and he threatened to sue for slander or something along those lines. I bet he would have been negbanged into oblivion.

White Pony Rocks did have that great thread where he complained about (sic) "douchey Mgoblog users" that were, in his opinion, probably students. He based his observations off of people ordering sandwiches from Potbellies. He's only at -20, but I love that thread.
