What happened to the two HUGE home-and-home series??

Submitted by AHM16 on

It was announced last week that Michigan would be announcing two "HUGE" home-and-home series by the end of last week and that never happened. I am assuming that Notre Dame was one of the teams and the academic scandal that hit them delayed the announcement.. Just a hunch. Does anybody have an idea what is going on here?

getting to point where, barring some pretty substantial changes to my lifestyle, I will probably be dead when the games being announced right now will be played.  I will at least be old and nasty, so it is hard for me to pumped about a game that is going to be played 20 years from now.

that DB is waiting on the other ADs to make the announcement at the same time?  If so then it is DB undoubtedly that is holding up the annoucement.

I heard multiple rumbings of Stanford being one of the two HUGE scheduling announcements. I wouldn't mind seeing us play a team that does what we want to do.

I suspect they're either coordinating the announcement timing with the other two schools or there may be some last minute contract details which need to be ironed out.

It'll be interesing to see if these games are gong to take place in the four open years from next decade (2024, 2027 thru 2029) or will be part of a second home-and-home non-conference series in as early as the 2018/9 time frame when Michigan plays Arkansas in Ann Arbor and Fayetteville.

the report itself came from like a CBS Detroit ports affiliate radio station.. and Michigan never confirmed it. Here's what the guy from Maize n Brew said on it:

"I reached out to a Michigan spokesperson to try and get this report confirmed, he said that there are no plans for any announcements at this time.

So, take that for what it’s worth."

Brandon scheduled home and homes against Man United and Real Madrid.  Imagine his embarassment when the whole "football" translation thing came to light.

The announcement was posted by skywriting over the Appalachian State and Baylor stadiums (A & B:  Brandon-clever). Welcome these newest B1G team additions, smart regional outreach and complementary letters of the alphabet (Delaney-clever). Raise that move, SEC.

It's HUGE given the dimensions of skywriting you know.
