What games to watch this week?
I was wondering what (non-Michigan) games everyone was watching this week. NW @ Purdue looks like the only good game on tomorrow, but MSU, Wisconsin, and WMU all have games on Friday that I might try to catch parts of.
Before our game on Saturday the FAU @ OU and UW @ Auburn games probably have the most hype, but are there any other games you'll be keeping an eye on?

Back into the submarine. There is literally zero info from the team and we're all getting cabin fever.

I'm lowkey hype for Purdue tomorrow.
Looking forward to UW-Aub, LSU-MIA, and VT-FSU. First look at Taggart as a Nole!
I'm conflicted about Tennessee and WVU. It probably won't be a good game, and I enjoy both teams and don't want to see one get clobbered, but I do want to watch Will Grier kick off his Heisman campaign and try to put up some big numbers on Pruitt's boys.

I’ll be rooting for NW. I want our 2018 opponents to win win win.
August 29th, 2018 at 8:57 PM ^
I've been on the Purdue train for a while now, I hope they smoke em. I'm going with the "Northwestern is already demoralized and dejected by the time we play" approach. I don't want some punky, confident NW team that gives us a trap game.
August 29th, 2018 at 9:02 PM ^
That’s why I’ll be rooting for Arizona State and IU over MSU.
August 29th, 2018 at 9:16 PM ^
Definitely on board there.
August 29th, 2018 at 10:50 PM ^
I'm one of those "I want what's best for Michigan's strength of schedule" types that generally thinks it's good for teams we play to win.
One of the upsides to the brutal schedule this year is that, if Michigan can somehow be in the committee conversation, our schedule is guaranteed to be murderous, so nobody has to hope some distasteful rival wins just to burnish our resume a bit. Our resume will be fine if we win, and if we don't it won't matter.
August 29th, 2018 at 9:08 PM ^
"Purdue train". I see what you did there.
August 29th, 2018 at 9:16 PM ^
Didn't even mean to, look at that.
August 29th, 2018 at 10:02 PM ^
Well, you engineered it perfectly.
August 29th, 2018 at 10:49 PM ^
On the right track and you didn't even know it
August 30th, 2018 at 6:17 AM ^
Just had that one on the boiler plate huh?
August 30th, 2018 at 2:05 AM ^
Most years I'd have something to say about SOS, but 1) the playoff committee doesn't care and 2) even if they did, the rest of the schedule is sufficiently brutal as to not really matter.
August 29th, 2018 at 10:54 PM ^
I don’t want Sparty to win on Friday. I hope they lose 51-2.
August 30th, 2018 at 2:07 AM ^
They'll probably look terrible in the first half and then uncork some stuff in the 2nd half that makes them overall look worse than they'll play against Michigan.
August 30th, 2018 at 1:53 AM ^
Good point. Could really help if NW finishes in the top 25 and we're looking at a possible playoff spot.
August 29th, 2018 at 8:53 PM ^
Really hope LSU beats Miami, cheering for a Lebatard melt down.
August 29th, 2018 at 8:58 PM ^
I guess I want LSU as well? I mostly like LSU, don't care for Miami at all, but at the same time I think the more LSU wins the more it just delays the inevitable, which is firing Orgeron.
August 29th, 2018 at 10:55 PM ^
I don’t know if you guess you want LSU. You tell us if you do.
August 29th, 2018 at 10:50 PM ^
It'd mostly be a Mike Ryan and shipping container meltdown!
August 30th, 2018 at 1:54 AM ^
I do actually kinda like Orgeron, but fuck the SEC. It takes something special for me to root for the SEC.
August 30th, 2018 at 2:09 AM ^
Tennessee winning does nothing for Michigan this year, I'm pretty sure. However, if the program looks like it is falling apart, maybe Michigan's chances with Quavaris Crouch improve a great deal.
August 29th, 2018 at 8:47 PM ^
Miami vs LSU. Wish it was in Baton Rouge instead of Arlington.
August 29th, 2018 at 8:47 PM ^
Like you, I'm looking forward to Purdue-NW tomorrow. Tennessee and West Virginia could play a very entertaining game on Saturday at 330. I'll have a personal interest in CMU-Kentucky. Maybe App State and Penn State gets weird? I'm really intrigued by LSU-Miami too.
August 29th, 2018 at 8:51 PM ^
Texas Tech - Ole Miss should be an entertaining game at noon on Saturday, potentially Texas-Maryland as well.
There are some pretty decent 3:30 besides Auburn-Washington. UNC-Cal, Tennessee-WVU, PSU-App State, Wyoming-Wazzu, and NIU-Iowa.
Saturday night before our game Boise-Troy should probably be the best G5 game of the year at 6.
Tulane-Wake tomorrow at 8 could be entertaining too. Stanford-SDSU Friday night too.
August 29th, 2018 at 8:59 PM ^
Yeah....never watching that psu game. I promise you we come up in that broadcast a minimum of three times.
August 29th, 2018 at 9:01 PM ^
Only One Game To Watch.
Go Blue.
August 29th, 2018 at 9:06 PM ^
This post more than any other so far has jacked me up for football season for some reason.
August 29th, 2018 at 10:53 PM ^
College football is such an awesome sport. There's our game, upon which our world hangs; there is also a handful of games that we know will be nationally significant. And then there will be a couple of under-the-radar games that turn out to be gems we'll all be flipping to, watching for the big upset/high scoring performance/shocking letdown.
It's the first week. It will be great.
August 29th, 2018 at 9:07 PM ^
WMU, did my undergrad there and a friend’s family member is on this year’s team. Would love to see him do well.
Poor guy has to line up against Gary next week, though.
August 29th, 2018 at 9:08 PM ^
I'm actually really excited to watch Purdue v Northwestern tomorrow
August 29th, 2018 at 9:19 PM ^
go NW, oldest brother's alma mater/where he played ball. love that school and only want them to lose to us, ever. go cats.
August 29th, 2018 at 9:17 PM ^
Tennessee vs. West Virginia, to warm up for the UM-ND game. I'm in Knoxville, so there's a local interest. It will be interesting to see the start of the Jeremy Pruitt era.
August 29th, 2018 at 10:54 PM ^
Neyland is a great place to watch a game. I really dislike Tennessee, but their fans are great and when there's hype at that Stadium it's something else.
August 29th, 2018 at 9:18 PM ^
I'll be rooting for whoever is playing against the Fightin' Dantonio's.
August 29th, 2018 at 9:40 PM ^
Indeed
August 29th, 2018 at 9:24 PM ^
All of them
August 29th, 2018 at 9:32 PM ^
It's week one. All of them.
August 29th, 2018 at 9:42 PM ^
I want to see what Stanford looks like Friday night, and also Taggart's FSU team against VT. Maybe I'll check in on Fisher's version of aTm, if I think about it. And LSU-Miami should be fun to watch. Miami should look solid, but watching Coach O has an entertainment value all its own. I'm kind of interested in seeing how he blows that collection of talent he has, again...
August 29th, 2018 at 9:50 PM ^
Washington-Auburn is the best matchup this week in my opinion. Apart from that I want to see how Taggart at FSU and Jimbo at A&M look.
August 29th, 2018 at 9:58 PM ^
Northwestern vs Purdue Thursday night should be a fun one
August 29th, 2018 at 11:18 PM ^
People keep saying Purdue will be good this year. And when Northwestern is expected to be good (as they are this year) that's when they almost always crash and burn immediately.
Whatever happens, it's two B1G teams so I'll be watching regardless.
August 29th, 2018 at 10:00 PM ^
random question , I am kind of new to the board. I have been stuck at 20 points for a long time and it does not change when I comment on anything.
August 29th, 2018 at 10:52 PM ^
Welcome to Board 3.0
The glitch will be fixed...in the future
August 30th, 2018 at 12:29 AM ^
I have the same problem. Lol
August 29th, 2018 at 10:38 PM ^
Not sure if I want NU to clean Purdue’s clock because of the Speight incidents last season. Or should we pull for Purdue to start strong and the Brohm to (insert next big opportunity) rumors begin, so that Karlaftis has doubts about going there?
I will be watching my Alma Mater, WMU, Friday night as they open at home vs Syracuse. Should be a good game. CBSSN.
Go Kentucky beat the Chimps
August 29th, 2018 at 10:56 PM ^
Syracuse at WMU on a Friday? If I still lived in Michigan and had the cash I'd give serious thought to going to that game. Sounds like a blast.
August 29th, 2018 at 11:13 PM ^
I'm actually curious about that game. Syracuse has been a tire fire of a program for nearly 20 years now. And Western has pulled off some wins (like Iowa and Illinois) against the lower teams from the bigger conferences.
Only this time, the game is in Kalamazoo. This may be interesting.
August 30th, 2018 at 1:57 AM ^
There's nothing like a gameday in Kalamazoo. If you can get to the game upright and free from handcuffs that's a win
