Wednesday Night NCAAFB Open Thread Boise@Tulsa

Line is Boise -8.5 or -9 from what I'm seeing. I'm also seeing 49.5 to 51 as the O/U. I'm hoping for an outright upset, but in reality, I see Boise beating the spread handily. Game starts at 8pm. Discussion falls here.

Considering that OU blanked Tulsa without Bradford, I don't see any way that Boise doesn't blow Tulsa away. Personally, I think that Boise would give OU a run for its money. Easy cover, IME.

Both offenses have been slayin' fools. Gimme over 50. Yeah, Tulsa got pantsed by OU, but that OU's D is friggin' sweet. Now the interesting part, Tulsa's D is pretty good, I think better than Boise's. Tulsa's D has only given up 9 TDs all year and 6 of them (!) were to Oklahoma. Boise St.'s D has only given up 9 TDs also but they've been more spread out. Yardage is a similar story 529 of 1496 yads allowed by Tulsa were to Oklahoma. Boise St.'s defense has been more consistent in giving up yards. Strength of Schedule is pretty even. Interesting little spot for Boise...

I really hope Tulsa wins. I don want to hear Boise State whine when they go undefeated and arent playing in the NC game.

Play 3 good teams in your non-conference and maybe you'll have an argument. When your toughest conference foe is Fresno State or Nevada or hey, Idaho (5-1 baby!), you don't have a leg to stand on. So until you schedule 3 worthwhile opponents, pipe down! (For reference, BSU's non-conf sked is: Oregon, Miami (NTM), Bowling Green, and Tulsa)

They are in a tough spot. They need better OOC games, but they are good enough that top teams are not going to want to risk losing to them, especially in a home-and-home situation. Also, since their stadium is only about 35K, top teams will not want to play there.

to play against them. Oregon was a preseason top 15 team. As of now, Oregon is looking very good as of late. If Oregon upset USC which is a possibility given that this isn't the strongest USC compared to the past few years. Boise State have Oregon as their marquee win.

Boise's non-conference schedule in 2012 is pretty damn formidable: 9/1 - vs Miami (NTM) 9/15 - at Oregon St 9/22 - vs BYU 9/29 - at Utah
