Good thing we would never hire a Coach from Miami of Ohio. Why would we ever want a coach from a MAC school?

I'm a recent alum, and am part of the alumni association. i don't agree with you on any of that. that was one of the most irrationale and illogical posts i've ever read here. and you're '84 grad? that's unbelievable.

what don't I understand? explain please. i mean seriously, you're so irrational. mcguffie is one of the best RB's in the country? based on what? being a 'youtube sensation'? He has a lot of potential but he's not one of the best RB's yet. We have one of the best group of LB's in the country?!?! WHAT?! are you serious? our best LB was a lowly ranked running back in HS.

and also, all of the guys who belong in the 'Jackson state prison' as you referred to were recruited by lloyd carr (carson butler, kevin grady, etc). and the only freshmen out of RR's 1st class who has gotten into trouble (Stonum) was a LC recruit.

and who cares if RR wasn't the 1st candidate for the job. Bo wasn't the first candidate when he was hired.

have the best uniforms in the country, therefore we should get the best coach and win a national championship. Really? Best fans? We boo a bunch of 18 year old kids who are busting their butts. You obviously know nothing about football and are the typical rich alum who talks to his country club friends about how good we are and yet you know nothing about the program. Please hold true to your promise and dont give another dime, because none of us associated with the program want it. In the meantime try learning something rather than running your mouth about things you know nothing about.

One of the things I know MOST about is college football and specifically Michigan football.  Some of my good friends are former team members.  I have never booed the players.  I realize that, unlike the pros, the players are a direct product of their coaches and the coaching scheme.  Please cite for me in my original post where I booed or blamed the players? Don't put your words in my mouth, particularly when they are such uneducated words.

I'm a rich alum? HA! That accusation is rich. I barely am able to pay my bills each month and I've never belonged to a country club.  When I donate to the Alumni Association and to my alma mater, LS&A Fund, and sometimes to the Economics Dept., I give even when it hurts. So, perhaps its YOU who shouldn't be "running your mouth about things you know nothing about."

we need to band together and ignore the trolls.  This reads like every stereotype all of us rational readers can't stand to the point that it may be incredibly clever satire.  I can't even tell any more.  I won't even bother picking this post apart, maybe I should send it to Brian to get pulled.

First, learn to spell.  You're a recent graduate and you spell "irrational" with an "e"??

Second, you think "explain please" is a complete sentence?  Are you an engineering grad?

McGuffie was one of the best running backs in the State of Texas in high school.  I've never even seen the YouTube video so talked about.  But I've seen him play - in person.  He is impressive, especially for a true freshman and I've seen some of the best in person (Anthony Thomas; Chris Perry; etc.)

I don't know what linebacker corps you're looking at, but Obi Ezeh, Jonas Mouton, Austin Panter, and Brandon Herron are fantastic LBs.  They're young, but that doesn't make them bad.  Each of those four will be playing in the pros in 2-3 years.  Several of the legitimate media support this assertion.

Finally, what you don't understand is that in the real world, if you screw up at your job and perform worse than anyone even predicted, you lose your job.  You're fired.  "RichRod" hasn't even lived up to the lowest of expectations.  I would think beating one of the worst teams in the MAC should still be an easy accomplishment even for a program in transition.

So, clearly, you don't even understand how business works.  You invest capital and if the leader of that company doesn't provide a reasonable ROI (that's return on investment, because you probably don't know) or the ROI isn't in the foreseeable future, that leader is replaced.

Grow up and you will understand.

you're so full of shit its ridiculous. you're very condescending and i bet you think a whole lot of yourself. at least you're happy with that. it sounds like everyone else here thinks you're a complete douchbag.

you've seen mcguffie play in person? where at michigan stadium? or in HS, when he was going up against HIGH SCHOOL defenses. honestly man you're such a dick. thanks for spelling out ROI (i was an econ major) and letting me know what the real world is like. b/c the 11-12 hour days i work at now at my trading firm hasn't taught me shit.

To think your grammar is so fantastic.  But I would think that an LSA grad should know that the period goes inside the quotation mark.  You've made that mistake in several posts on this topic.  You can always count on anyone who criticizes spelling and grammar to be a dumbass who makes mistakes as well.

tjthurston

Well, please don't repeat that to anyone, because I was an Economics Major too and I really would prefer not to be associated with traders like you.  Hey, and thanks for blowing my 401k account too!  You traders are as good working on the market as you are knowledgeable about football (FYI, that's a simile, douchebag).

I don't know how old you have to be to understand this, but Brandon Herron has never started a game at LB for Michigan yet and has played sparingly on special teams after being redshirted last season. Somehow he is considered "a fantastic LB"? Oh by the way, Austin Panter was replaced after the first game by Thompson.

In this case, the acceptable ROI is foreseeable. Rodriguez took less talent at WVU and made then MNC contenders. And in his first year they went 3-8, so its not like our first season should be time to panic.

I've been a reader of this blog for over two years now.  I've never posted a comment until now.  The guy who wrote this post is an idiot.  There are so many things I wanna say.

Myopic:

lacking foresight or scope; "a short view of the problem"; "shortsighted policies"; "shortsighted critics derided the plan"; "myopic thinking"

This has to be a joke, right?  The elitism, the identification with the alumni association, the myopia and arrogance all scream satire.  It is almost too perfect.  I bet on some OSU board somewhere they are having a good laugh at our expense.

When your argument falls apart and you're exposed as an idiot, always attack the other person's spelling!

Do you guys collect troll dolls?  Or are you so geeky that you have to use a derogatory term like trolls for people who don't agree with you.  Straighten your pocket protector, Myron.

Sad that people who claim to be Michigan grads or fans of Michigan are willing to exhibit such lower levels of intelligence.  I expected better.  Throwing your money into a fireplace would clearly have been a more productive use of your money than the tuition you paid.  Better still, you should have gone to an inferior school like OSU or PSU or MSU.  That way those of us who actually use our brains wouldn't have to be associated with you in any way.

Are you so threatened by people who have a differing opinion than you?  If so, it's time to return to your cubicles and suck the teets of your bosses.

Gee, you used the term myopic.  Actually, you probably Googled 'short sighted' and like a dweeb who has just taken a moment away from masturbation to use a thesaurus are patting yourself on the back.

After Michigan goes 4-8 this year and maybe, just maybe, 5-7 next year, you'll reconsider your blind faith in RichRod.  When Tyrelle Prior decided not to come to Michigan, you should have all read the writing on the wall.

Have fun.  Troll indeed.

You may want to try clicking that little 'x' thing in the upper-right-hand corner of your screen.  You apparently tripped and somehow ended up on the internet for the first time.

For future reference, masturbation has arguably been socially acceptable for quite some time, so I doubt anyone finds that type of accusation insulting.

I'll risk it.  You look like a child molester. You have a great big pedo smile.

Also, for someone that has this:

"Making a Meritless Case Go Away: In Leadley v. The Edward C. Rance Trust,
Case No. 07-LM-6, Circuit Court for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit,
Bureau County, Illinois, Thurston Law Offices, P.C. won a Dismissal of the Complaint on behalf of
their client."

On your site, you should know a meritless claim when you see one.

ShockFX

October 12th, 2008 at 9:14 PM ^

It does, however, add nothing less than what you started the whole thread with:

"I'm a 1984 Alison Play (LS&A) grad with substantial money into the
Alumni Assoc.  I am an avid fan and was just at this year's
homecoming.  I don't feel it is right for the winningest program in
college football and their fans to wait 3 years until Rodriguez
straightens out the program or recruits the players he needs or
whatever line of crap is being fed us now."

Because I forgot, being an LSA grad with "substantial" money into the Alumni Assoc makes you a football expert.   Also, because you "don't feel it's right" is also another excellent debating strategy.  You are a failure.  Now get the fuck off the internet before you hurt yourself.

You are fantastically clever.  You did a Google search on my name and found my website.

Which part is the failure? That I have my own law practice? That I know how to spell?  That I haven't lost a trial in the last 10 years? or that I support the National MS Foundation because my wife has MS?  Really, enlighten me.  Which part is the failure?  And what are your accomplishments in life?

You don't even identify yourself.  You all use these geek Internet names, hiding behind a mask.  That is exceptionally brave of you all.

You want to attack me because I know how to spell and use grammar? When was the last time a personal attack was a valid debating technique?

Is mgoblog.com only for people who blindly support Michigan football and no criticism is allowed?  Really?

No one is ever allowed to criticize the coach?  No one is ever allowed to support players that are trying hard and, to no fault of their own, are being criticized by the media?

Well, that's a really rational blog.  Attack anyone who ever says anything negative or attempts to offer constructive criticism.  I'm truly sad that you think so little of your Michigan education.
