WAY OT: Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Beta Available

Submitted by Flamebait on

A buddy sent me a code for the beta.  I'm not sure how you get one but pretty sure they can be found online.  I'm playing on the XBOX 360 and so far this game blows away MW3.

Sorry for the post non-gamers, but I thought I'd let my fellow M fans/grads know so they can enjoy.

I'm a new "gamer" (due to being up at ungodly hours of the night with a newborn) and have been reading about beta forms of games.  What the heck are they??

Essentially, it is a nearly finished version of the game that allows gamers to find final bugs and any other necessary tweaks.  Open beta generally means that the public has an opportunity to test, and closed is far more limited in who can test.

No problem man. It's a really great game so far.  Only 2 maps are available but they reallyshow off the new features.  Lots of cover and sprint to next cover.  I can't get into all of the features at risk of boring those here but yes it's fun.

I am a big fan of the series too.

Meh...

I'm sure I'll Gamefly it. But I'd be much more excited about a modern day version of the original and/or GRIT. In my lifetime video games went from tic-tac-toe (pong) to chess (Rainbow Six and GR)... And then started devolving into really pretty checkers (just about everything out).

I have a beta code (pre ordered it) do I just put it in via my xbox or do I have to go to their website? Me and a couple buddies are checking it out after work. Thanks man

You just go to where it says redeem code and type it in and the download option will pop up and then you're set to go.  Although right now I'm <still> playing it and it seems to be having loading issues.

The first two games were incredible. I still have most of the player bios and weapon descriptions memorized. The embassy level from R6 was an amazing experience the first time. The map at 0:23 of the Rogue Spear intro is oddly prophetic, even if the timeframe was a bit optimistic (pessimistic?). Ghost Recon was pretty damn good as well, but I'm not sure we'll see the equivalent of Rainbow Six again.

The sad thing is if they did make it the sales and ratings would suck.

"Why I can't jump off a roof while full auto sniping?! Waaah?... My health doesn't regenerate?! Mission planning? *yawn* This game sucks!!!".

The GRAW games had enough options in multiplayer to be decent. But it's sad to think what they could (but don't) do.
