War Against Wife Day

Submitted by jamiemac on

I dont get this Wife Day crap. Come on people. We only get 12-13 CFB Saturdays a year. Dont y'all do enough on the other three dozen Saturdays and the rest of the year where you dont need to ignore one of the rare full days of college football we get during the year?

So, strike a blow against Wife Day. Join me in my War Against Wife Day and watch as much college football tomorrow as possible. Its truly the patriotic thing to do. And, while you're at it, maybe gamble on a game or two. Speaking of which, here's a link to my Big 10 picks over at the JCB. Check it out.

But who do you like tomorrow in league play against these spreads:

Minny at Iowa, Iowa -7

PSU at Illinois, PSU -1

IU at NW, NW -11.5

OSU at MSU, MSU -3

Wisco at Brasker, Brasker -11.5

Who you got in these or any other games this weekend.

But you'll surely lose the war. Strategery is called for. Acquiesce to Wife Day so that you may enjoy your other CFB Saturdays in peace (says the guy whose wife is out of town on Wife Day).

I was in South Bend last weekend.   I was there man... in the thick of it.  It was horrible.

I need a break from college football.  Just for a couple hours.  Not including the fourth quarter of the Stanford-Washington game last night.  And not including Ohio v. Sparty.  Or the late games.  So, just the noon games. But other than that... I need  a break.

Iowa covers and Minnesota starts its quest for 6-6.

Penn State wins 6-3.  Both teams will finish below .500.

IU covers but loses.  NW will be in the Gator Bowl at 8-4.

Ohio State wins because I want them to.

Wisconsin covers but loses.    Nebraska will win the Big 10 (If MIchigan loses in Lincoln)

I think OSU will beat MSU.  OSU's offense is at its best when someone runs right at it, and I think the Buckeye offense is better than it has looked at times.  Miller is a hard guy to stop when OSU puts him in the right position, which they do whenever they really need a first down.  I say it will be OSU 27, MSU 16.

I really respect Jamiemac's entire program. Could not agree more. My lady likes shopping. She can shop every weekend if she wants and she doesn't owe me anything. I like watching football.

I have a perfect football wife, we both watch football all day Saturdays, but thanks to the blog she now knows about "Wife Day". We'll have to go do something together for a few hours tomorrow till the state game comes on.

Not only did my girl agree to go to Oktoberfest with me for the past week, she split the costs with me, let my friends crash on the couch in our room, didn`t get pissed when I drank too much AND managed to scare off a burglar that broke into our room before he took ANYTHING.  That is why we need to take the time to realize that taking that extra weekend off to spend some extra time with our ladies is not a big deal.  I love the stuff from Jamie, but I have to respectfully disagree this time.  Although my situation is different and highly unusual, tomorrow will be wife day from 12am to 11:59pm.

I just informed my lady what tomorrow is and she asked if we could go to our favorite sports bar to watch football and try the wing king couple challenge. How did I get so lucky?? Not to mention when I met her she was a huge ND fan but now rolls with the maize and blue.

MSU is too one-dimensional and will have a hard time with OSU's DL. I don't think they'll be able to exploit OSU's leaky back 7. Miller should be able to make just enough plays to eke out a win.

I think Wisconsin can stay within 7-10 of Nebraska.

For a non-B1G game I like Colorado getting 20 at home against UCLA. Colorado sucks, but they put it together at the end at WSU and should be up after getting an unexpected win on the road. I don't think UCLA will put them away until late.

Iowa -7 smells; run to the smell and take the Hawkeyes.

PSU -1?  PSU.

IU/NW pass

OSU/MSU pass

Take the 11-1/2 and Wisky.  Wisconsin has a better defense, so they can keep it close enough.
