Vote for Rudock as Manning QB of the week
November 16th, 2015 at 12:46 PM ^
So... I'm guessing that D key on everyone's keyboards that kept sticking earlier in the season is fixed now?
November 16th, 2015 at 12:48 PM ^
I just assumed people were spelling it thusly (RuDDock) to emphasize his double dose of "pimp game"???
November 16th, 2015 at 12:47 PM ^
No, I will not, but only because since 1997 I have been pissed at anyone named Manning...
November 16th, 2015 at 1:03 PM ^
Yeah, what do you have against Eli Manning, he has won 2 Super Bowls you know???
November 16th, 2015 at 1:04 PM ^
On second thought, one of his came against our beloved Tom Brady, so screw Eli also!
November 16th, 2015 at 1:13 PM ^
To borrow a Mgoblog phrase:
UFR, BOTH his SB came by beating Brady's Pats
November 16th, 2015 at 1:18 PM ^
You are right, my bad. I HATE HIM!!!!
November 16th, 2015 at 1:08 PM ^
That was the year Woodson won the Heisman over Manning. There is a theory, or allegation, that in light of that win, Fat Fullmer, the Tennessee coach, orchestrated certain coaches of the coaches poll to down vote Michigan, and that is what led to 1997 being a split national championship, and not outright for Michigan.
November 16th, 2015 at 1:49 PM ^
Thanks, you said it better than I could have...
November 16th, 2015 at 1:50 PM ^
Your conspiracy theory needs a little fleshing out:
It was Osborne announcing his retirement and attending lobbying that got the coaches to jump Nebraska over us in their poll. If Fulmer voted for Neb you can hardly blame him, as his team had just been run off the field by them in the Orange Bowl. Hating Peyton has nothing to do with Fulmer or the coaches poll.
I hated Manning becasue he was always overrated, since he began playing as a true Freshman, when the starting QB was knocked out in the 1st or 2nd game of the season vs UCLA (that QB was Colorado Rockies great Todd Helton!)
The "His Dad was Archie" stories that still pollute the airwaves at every possible opportunity were unceasing even then. I always rooted and more importantly BET against Peyton in every big game, as his constant ball-patting & happy feet drove me nuts.
Then, when the groundswell for Woodson for Heisman began to grow throughout Nov, following Judgement Day through osu, the Tenn supporters who had assumed Peyton's Heisman was his birthright began to get testy and snarky. The Governor of Tennessee demanded an investigation into Heisman voting!!!!!!!
Then, of course, the capper was the many Tommy vs Peyton playoff games, when rooting against Manning became practically a requirement as a Michigan fan.

Michigan finished with 1,516 points and Nebraska had 1,520. Nebraska had 32 first place votes and Michigan had 30 first place votes. Based off the first place votes, if the other team recieved the second place vote then Michgian should have ended with 1,518 points and Nebraska should have ended up with 1,520 points. Fulmer voting Michigan 4th did not change the outcome of the poll. It was clearly a very childish thing to do and the only reason he would do so is because his star QB did not win the Heisman trophy. Now had Carr sent Woodson out to the media and had him lobbying like Frost was for Osborne, things may have been very diffrent.
"(But) it was explained to me that we had lost and the way the balloting ended up, one coach voted us fourth ... I didn't tell the team that, I didn't want them to dwell on negatives. But I was extremely bothered by it and I still am."- Lloyd Carr
November 16th, 2015 at 2:51 PM ^
I fail to see why you would hate Manning because of that.

Nov. 27, 2013
At the Michigan vs. Ohio State football game on Saturday (Nov. 30), the U-M Athletic Department will honor three individuals who are retiring after building iconic careers with the Maize and Blue: Jon Falk, Bruce Madej and Frank Beckmann.
MGoBlue.com will recognize each of these men in the days leading up the "Big Game," starting with Madej's top personal moments of his career.
November 16th, 2015 at 12:48 PM ^
No, I like Rudock too much to do that.
November 16th, 2015 at 1:05 PM ^
After watching Manning vs KC this weekend, no one should be aspiring to be the Manning QB of the week.
November 16th, 2015 at 12:50 PM ^
Can you not vote for the "Manning" Award if you're not on Facebook?
So much for that, but great game Jake!
Here's my "Attaboy" Award for those not on Facebook!!! Click to like this if you're not a Facebooker....
ATTABOY!
November 16th, 2015 at 12:59 PM ^
Exactly why I hate Facebook. I don't use that site and will not create an account simply to vote for silly fan polls or whatever this is.
November 16th, 2015 at 12:53 PM ^
Jake had a better QB week than Peyton.
November 16th, 2015 at 12:53 PM ^
Given the day that Manning had yesterday, the bar for "Manning QB of the week" would appear to be rather low this week. Or is this in honor of Eli? I don't think he's feeling real great about his yesterday either.
In any case, my thinking is that Jake's week surpassed that of whichever Manning QB you choose.

November 16th, 2015 at 1:52 PM ^
Archie too!
November 16th, 2015 at 12:53 PM ^
But Rudock threw 4 TDs in regulation, not 4 Ints.
November 16th, 2015 at 12:54 PM ^
and probably the KEY play of the game was right before halftime with 49 seconds to go after Indiana had just scored to make it 21-16, Ruddock leads them down the field..Now they should have scored a TD but ended up with the FG...without those 3 points Michigan loses
November 16th, 2015 at 1:01 PM ^
You don't know that. The game would have been played differently if we did not score a field goal there.
November 16th, 2015 at 1:08 PM ^
and you DO KNOW THAT....geesh....of course your speculation counts everybody elses doesnt....do you typcially speak berfore you think?

I missed the time when I said that. Please point to it.
November 16th, 2015 at 1:08 PM ^
if that happens then this will happen, in retrospect, is somewhat of a fool's adventure. I will vote for Jake.
November 16th, 2015 at 1:18 PM ^
The way Manning played yesterday, I don't want any comparisons between the two.
November 16th, 2015 at 1:35 PM ^
I'm sure Rudock would appreciate the award, even if you guys done like Manning or whatever
November 16th, 2015 at 1:41 PM ^
I'd prefer to vote for him to win the Brady QB of the week instead. It's ver similar except it lasts longer and wins more championships.

Did anyone else throw for 35yards and 4 INTs?

On Sunday, I'd rather not take the award. Whether it's named after him or not.
