A homeless man's Tebow.
He was one of the best players to ever play college football.
The approach of viewing Tebow's college career through the lens of his NFL 'career' is baffling to me. Short-sighted to say the least. The guy could play some college ball.
Tim Tebow as Michigan's QB??
That is damn ridiculous and you know it.
For him. He could have gone to Michigan. Now he won't.
GO BLUE!
I didn't think it played out that way. Seemed like he didn't have a spot when it came to signing day, but maybe I'm wrong
He wanted to be a Wolverine very bad everyone and was told last minute by Harbaugh himself he would not be able to compete at QB and that he Michigan wants him as a FB and LB. people here do not realize how good this huh is on defense. He played in one of the best High School Football leagues in So Cal and tore it up. I would love to have Vic here at Michigan as a FB or a LB.
It was a shame the way his recruitment went down and I wasn't happy w how he was told things. Michigan seemed to have learned from there recruiting mistakes in this day and age w technology.
Would be a good fullback.
...based on, what exactly?
He should really be in a triple option offense at GT or Navy where his skill set meshes and he'd get the chance to be a qb.
Or BYU...he can be the new Taysom Hill..but younger.
are hemorrhaging talent. Boo!
Just this year they've had 2 QBs transfer out, Vic and Gilliam, though McIlwain is transferring in from South Carolina. Also lost 2018 QB commit Adrian Martinez to Tennessee and WR Drew Kobayashi will be transferring. Not as much a big deal as Cal has a glut of WRs as they were using the Bear Raid offense and will be doing more pro-set under Wilcox.
But, still. Cumong Wilcox, get it together out there in Strawberry Creek.
If I were Harbaugh I would look into going and getting Rice! I've heard from of my circle he has visited ASU (last week) Miss St, Texas, but he would love to come to Michigan if given the opportunity. I met this kid in Florida at the UA Game and he's a monster w a mean streak for a TE. Remember his dad told me flat out if his older brother wasn't at Auburn they would have picked Michigan!
I'm the Camp of do your research and see what happened etc: maybe he was jobbed lol
For old times sake
For all the reasons mentioned above, I don't see why we'd be a good fit for each other NOW. Maybe when Harbaugh first recruited him, but by the time he's eligible to play, we will have added another couple of recruiting classes. Our roster in fall 2019 will look totally different than it did when we originally recruited him. And yes, he was an entertaining novelty w/ the workout videos and head-band. But that doesn't win games.
And as others have said, if he's transferring becasue he wants to play QB, there's no way he comes and no way we really want him. If he wants to be a bigger fish in a smaller pond then let him play QB at Arizona or Boise State or Colorado State or whatever.
The only way I could see it making sense to spend a roster slot on him is if he'd be willing to be the ultimate 2nd/3rd string utility guy. Basically an insurance policy for 2-3 positions so if we happen to get a rash of injuries in ONE particular spot on the field, we could slide him over & plug him in. He'd essentially be the UBER walk-on guy that we spend a scholarship on because we've got one to burn, and because he provides some security at more than one position.
But in order for that to happen, two things would have to be true:
- We don't have a better use for that scholarhsip; and
- He'd have to be willing to basically ride bench at not even the QB position (which as others have said, why didn't he just slide over to another spot at Cal if all he wanted was playing time).
So, I don't know if either one is the case, which is why it's probably not a good fit for us right now.
He'll probably end up at UCLA. They seem to be getting everybody these days.
...I picture someone like this. The masked guy, not the Monchhichi.
In other (old) news...Chris Bryant was hired to Harbaugh's staff. So that's cool.
