Vernon Tucker JUCO Linebacker comes to Michigan

What’s a JUCO?
Seriously? JUnior COllege.
Not seriously …a joke about we don’t get jucos
is this him? Says 4.0 student and 4.3 40?
I can believe the former. Gotta give the latter 5 fakes out of 5. That 4.3 would make him the fastest linebacker in the history of the world. Still excited though. Great competition in that LB room now.
Like Devin Bush... but faster.
EDIT: Just looked it up. Devin ran 4.43 at the combine.
Shaquem Griffin apparently ran a 4.38 at the 2018 combine.

If Fred Jackson blesses it than it is true.
Haha. Yes—good call. Let’s see…Austin Panter (thanks for App State) and Russell Shaw. Can’t think of any others.
Wasn't Brad Hawkins as well?

No. Hawkins went to prep school. I believe it was because he transferred in HS a couple of times and one of the schools messed up his transcripts or something.
But I know it wasn't JUCO. They just kind of stashed him for a year in the 13th grade.

On the hardwood, there was Rickey Green and Brandun Hughes.
Didn't we get an MSU transfer just a few years ago?
I see what you did there.
I think you may be confusing JUCO with work release program.

Irony of ironies. We couldn't get Illinois go-to guy but Vernon's academic status is solid as a Michigan rock.

Thank you for allowing me to neg this shitty remark five different times!
Did you spill coffee on your keyboard?

I'd rather he be a 4.3 student with a 4.0 40, but maybe my admission standards are too high.
You should apply for a job in the Admissions Dept...
If you run 4.0, probably better off on the track winning gold and earning $20M endorsements without the physical punishment. That's what I'd do.
Read his personal statement. Wow!
He sounds like a wonderful young man. Wishing him much success.
I didn't read it initially but after your comment I did. I agree,
He forgot the little /s

So it's a college just for juniors. He must be a senior now then.

Lenny Kravitz and Adam Duritz approve
A Lion from Zion.
Everybody should take a moment and read this profile. Pulling for the best for this kid (although the 4.3 40 time has to score 5 FAKES out of 5).
might be more real than Mazi's 44 inch vert last summer though

It's just an honest misprint. He actually ran a 4.3 30.
March 22nd, 2023 at 11:15 PM ^
Or he ran a 5.3 40.

"As a passionate and dedicated football player, my goal is to play college football at a great school. I am a multi-sport varsity athlete (football, wrestling and track), who is looking to achieve my goal of becoming an NCAA student athlete. I have a 4.0 GPA and I am on the Deans List. I have a passion for learning new things and striving to be the best I can be. Although my dad was absent, my love for football and athleticism comes from him. He played football, basketball, and baseball all his life. He stands at a massive 6’8 – 300lbs, and played defensive end. My work ethic, commitment and spirit come from my mom, who is a hard-working single mother. My mom put herself through graduate school while raising 3 sons on her own. Watching her, gave me the determination and will-power to be all I can be, in spite of all the adversity I faced. Being raised in the home with no father figure brought on many challenges for me. I have struggled academically but this has put the fire in me to be strong and never give up. I have matured and pulled myself up by my bootstraps. I have learned that with hard work and dedication, I can be and do anything that’s put in front of me.
I am confident that I will continue to develop as a linebacker, or what ever position best suited for the team. I am excited for my upcoming college years. If given the opportunity, I have no doubt, I would be a great asset to a college football team."
Okay, that got to me.
Welp I'm sold!
I don't care if this kid sees the field, play school young man because I like the cut of your jib
Better him than some others whose jib could use some cutting.
Seriously, welcome, young man. May your time here be one of the best times of your life, and may you do yourself and your mom proud.
Go Blue!

Not being a parent, I can't really fathom how hard that role is. But I really can't fathom how single parents do it. What an amazing woman his mother must be. Hope he can pull a Kwity and tell his mom to retire in a couple years.
Special.
Keep this attitude and approach and get the absolute most out of this opportunity young man.
Not sure about NFL but a study revealed most NBA players actually come from 2 parent house holds. Imagine that.
I can guarantee this was not ghost written by Cardale Jones.
aight who the fuck is cutting onions here
Hell yeah!!
That's something we don't see everyday at Michigan. Times are changing.
