Completely zero. How long has this been a tourney? How often do they play? Yeah yeah yeah, Google. But I don't care enough to take the necessary steps.

All we're gonna do is send in scrubs to make the game vaguely competitive. Just let the world play amongst themselves. I don't see the point in the US sending a pity team out. If we actually cared, our best team would win every game 200-0

On the team websites, they list the 5 players to watch for each team. For Japan, one is a 46 year old defensive lineman. Hard not to root for a 250 pound 46 year old DL.

It might have slightly more challenging had it been held in Sweden as originally planned. I still think the US would have dominated, but jet lag and no home audience (in as much as there was any audience) might have slowed them down a bit.Canada is probably the next best team and they dropped out.

Canton Ohio was a last minute replacement (well like six months, but that's pretty last minute for an event of this scale). The teams stayed in dorms at Walsh University, right behind our house.

My wife was running on campus and saw a French? player um..deflating his balls in a first floor dorm room without closing the blinds. I guess you could get lonely being on the road for three weeks.

Soccer was invented in England -- FIFA was invented in France.  Basketball was invented in the USA -- FIBA was invented in France.  Football was invented in the USA -- IFAF was invented in France.  Ice hockey was invented in Canada -- the IIHF is in France.

The ability of the French to appropriate rule making authority for sports they did not even invent is reminiscent of Huxley from "The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland."
