US Army All-American HS All-Star Game Bowl Open Thread

On NBC at 1 pm, but I figured with the recruiting ties, guys decommiting and not committing and maybe committing, there might be a little more interest for this, with some early chatter. Not like it's going to get pushed way down the board fast anyway.

I have to believe we're going to hear something today or at least by the basketball game tomorrow.  Right?  Right?  I've already had like 7 Diet Dr. Peppers this morning.  This must come to an end!

EDIT: To be clear, it isn't even 10 o'clock where I'm at. So yeah, I am not taking this well at all.

At what point during the broadcast does Frost commit? Is the best case scenario that he waits to commit considering the difficulty of commiting to a school without a HC? There are so many questions. I really hope DB makes the decision by next week but the Buckeyes last coaching search provides some perspective.

For as stressful as this coaching situation has been I am not too dissappointed with how it has affected recruiting. No one, besides Dee who we knew was gone, has officially decomitted. I still have a good feeling about Frost today, and even if he committs elsewhere I believe we can reel him back in the next few weeks. I think Lyons will go to UCLA. But I believe we have a chance if distance to the west coast seems like too much for his family.

I am hopeful of at least one commitment - Frost.  Lyons, I am not so sure, but either would make my day.  Both, and I am having a celebratory shot of Absente.

FWIW, Rivals predicts neither one of them to come here, and given the situation I don't blame them.

TomVH also said earlier today that parents of both are concerned about them picking today. Suggests that they could still be open once (if) we have a new coaching staff.

Wayne Lyons and Kris Frost's parents have expressed concern with them announcing today. We'll see if it affects anything after the game.

Per TomVH's twitter.

Yeah, good luck with that. This is by far my biggest concern. Unfortunately, unless we get a big name (is Gruden the only remotely realistic option remaining unless Miles lied to his players last night?) I have a bad feeling that we're looking at mass attrition again and another rebuild project.

I'm looking forward to when we don't have to fret over either and the only thing we worry about is which recruit to take becasue they all wnat to come here!   One can dream can't they?

HA! I'm actually not, because logging in on the back end is still all screwy, but please direct your Army Game-related comments to the liveblog.

Is going to be a big day here.  I am hopeful that we get Frost and/or Lyons today and then maybe even hear more about a coach later.  I just read on http://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/MessageTopic.asp?p=23767079&Pg=2 that a donor told someone that Miles is out of LSU by 5pm today and heard from another source that LSU has a possible replacement already in mind.  Could be a big day for the Maize and Blue or at least I hope it is.  Go Blue!!!

Man, is it fun watching all these one-time Michigan leans pick other schools.

Though I agree Rich Rod had to go, DB screwed the pooch with his poor timing on making the decision.  The class is going to be rounded out with MAC-level recruits... not the top-tier blue chips we desperately need.

Thanks, DB!
