Perhaps your best course of action on this topic would be to tread lightly.

Or you will cause our murder in the New Mexico desert?
December 10th, 2014 at 10:55 AM ^
I tried to SAVE him...
December 10th, 2014 at 11:26 AM ^
Million. And all you have to do is let him live."
December 10th, 2014 at 10:54 AM ^
Can I say that I expect his punishment to be a suspension for the rest of the season? Or would that be deemed inappropriate? Do we need to comment saying how disgusting this act is every time it happens?? Clearly it still happens if we are disgusted or not
December 10th, 2014 at 10:51 AM ^
in College shouldn't have girlfriend's. Their lives would be easier. Sad if true.
December 10th, 2014 at 10:54 AM ^
I was raised by my pops to walk away. As a result I haven't struck anyone since I was 14.
December 10th, 2014 at 11:16 AM ^
Uh, or men in college could just have girlfriends and not physically assault them. That would be easier for everyone, too.
December 10th, 2014 at 12:59 PM ^
How are you even able to post here anymore? I mean, digging out of -1,000,000 points is noble in some way, but man.
Also, my wife would disagree wiht your "don't have girlfriends in college" argument. Of course, I'm also capable of not hitting other people in the face because I'm angry.
December 10th, 2014 at 10:52 AM ^
No visible injuries, no witnesses, no arrest. Nothing to see here.
December 10th, 2014 at 10:52 AM ^
All my Ohio buddies said he was a straight laced, good head on his shoulders good family type of kid. Hopefully not accurate.
December 10th, 2014 at 11:14 AM ^
I assume you mean that you hope the report of the alleged assault is not accurate, and not referring the perception of him as a good kid.
December 10th, 2014 at 12:17 PM ^
This reads more like an altercation than an assault. It sounds like he at least showed some measure of restraint. He pushed her into a bed and used his forearm to pry a phone from her. It's not a great situation to be in, but he didn't hit her, she's not injured, and there are no charges.
Alcohol + relationships = sometimes blowing things out of proportion.
I've never, ever hit or assaulted a girl, but I remember drunk arguments where I was forced to physically restrain an ex. If things cross a line, you can't automatically fault a guy for it. Who's to say she wasn't the aggressor in this situation?
December 10th, 2014 at 1:27 PM ^
Last time I checked using your forearm to choke someone who is likely trying to call the police is a couple notches above just a little pushing and shoving.
December 10th, 2014 at 6:59 PM ^
If you read the article he was asking her to leave and he called the copd
December 10th, 2014 at 10:52 AM ^
She has the same last name as him.
December 10th, 2014 at 11:10 AM ^
Obviously his sister.
December 10th, 2014 at 1:21 PM ^
You won it.
December 10th, 2014 at 11:14 AM ^
No, they are not married. And, I may be wrong, but if they were married, isn't it standard for the man's last name to be after the hyphen and not before? In this case Clark-Barrett rather than Barrett-Clark.
December 10th, 2014 at 11:20 AM ^
He could be dating his married sister. Still OHIO.
December 10th, 2014 at 11:25 AM ^
Exactly. You're probably right.
December 10th, 2014 at 1:50 PM ^
and you can name yourself and your kids anything you want.
December 10th, 2014 at 11:35 AM ^
I read yesterday that Madison Bumgarner once dated a girl named Madison Bumgarner. Crazy right?
December 10th, 2014 at 10:53 AM ^
Sounds like a non story. She attacked him first and neither were injured.
December 10th, 2014 at 10:53 AM ^
ABC 6 is reporting he called the cops after she refused to leave his apartment. I'd be surprised if anything comes of this.
December 10th, 2014 at 11:38 AM ^
She told police that Barrett confronted her in his bedroom and "choked her on the bed." She said Barrett used his forearm to apply pressure to her neck before taking her phone away from her.
Barrett-Clark told police she managed to get away from Barrett and call police.
Maybe both called?
December 10th, 2014 at 12:24 PM ^
That's possible, although the police usually don't need to be told who called them.
December 10th, 2014 at 12:33 PM ^
It just seemed odd that the original story posted said nothing about Barrett calling police.
Also, there's this, so assuming we'll know more soon enough:
Police say both called. We've requested the calls. “@zachross: @mikewsyx6 wait did J.T. call the police or did the GF call the police?"
— Mike McCarthy (@mikewsyx6) December 10, 2014
December 10th, 2014 at 1:06 PM ^
Interesting. It'd be nice if the original story was a bit clearer on that point.
December 10th, 2014 at 1:55 PM ^
And news organizations are usually so good about waiting until facts are available and explaining them clearly rather than rushing to be the first to publish.
December 10th, 2014 at 10:54 AM ^
it just me, or does anyone else find it odd that she has already hypenated her name to include Barrett? Or even weirder - that he would possibly date someone with her name already hyphenated and including his last name?
Mind blown.
December 10th, 2014 at 10:58 AM ^
Weirder than Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner dating a girl when he was growing up who was also named Madison Bumgarner?
December 10th, 2014 at 11:43 AM ^
Yeah, not to discount the gravity of a situation involving potential domestic abuse, but can someone dig up more on this point?
December 10th, 2014 at 10:59 AM ^
outburst of this behavior is beyond troubling. Is it increasing or is just the reporting of it due to the 24 hour news and social media world we live in?
December 10th, 2014 at 11:02 AM ^
Domestic violence is very common. (I don't mean to comment one way or the other on this particular situation by saying that.)
December 10th, 2014 at 11:32 AM ^
both the media coverage and public perception. Accussation = Guilt right now. In years past, courts made the determination as to whether somebody did something or not, now reporters do. I am not saying whether there was or wasn't wrongdoing in this particular instance, but the times they are a changing.
December 10th, 2014 at 12:56 PM ^
Crimes and criminal behavior has decreased across the board ovr time, but the opportunity and ease for news outlets to freak out makes it seem like these things are on the rise.
December 10th, 2014 at 11:00 AM ^
If Gil Brandt isn't reporting this via Twitter I'm not buying a word of it.
December 10th, 2014 at 11:01 AM ^
so we can feel better about our own situation.
December 10th, 2014 at 11:52 AM ^
I love how the tail kind of deflates and curls up at the end. What an awesome gif
December 10th, 2014 at 11:55 AM ^
Holy shit it's been way too long since I saw this gif. Still the greatest gif of all time.
December 10th, 2014 at 11:03 AM ^
Tread lightly"? What does THAT mean?
DV can and should be criticized whenever it happens. This is not a UM vs. OSU issue. This is not a Frank Clark vs. JT Barrett issue.
You're clearly referencing Frank Clark BiSB.
Why does Frank Clark have to do with this?
Can UM fans not criticize Barrett if he did this? I'm not Frank Clark, so the answer is "yes".
I think you might want to tread lightly.
December 10th, 2014 at 1:04 PM ^
is this post real?
December 10th, 2014 at 4:56 PM ^
Yes. Real. BiSB should stick to writing about the Wing-T formation and leave social commentary to Brian.

What's this have to do with Harbaugh?
