Update: Offensive Coaching Staff Overhaul
Reading more and more that Dan Enos and Greg Roman will likely be the newest additions to the Michigan coaching staff, replacing Drevno, Pep, and Frey (all of which rumored to have accepted jobs elsewhere). This basically confirms what our "insider" MGoBlog accounts have been posting throughout the day with regards to the coaching changes. In bringing in Greg Roman, it appears that Harbaugh is planning on switching to the pistol offense that he ran with Colin Kaepernick in SF. He's got the QB's for it in Patterson, McCaffrey, and Milton, as well as athletic WR's in DPJ, Black, and Collins. Let's hope it revitalizes the offense for next season.
Note* Nothing is confirmed but I highly doubt that every UM Insider who's been tracking these moves is wrong

My 46 years of watching the Lions proves you tell the truth.
Boy, but some day, it'll all be worth it....

Not as long for me, but I was there an cheering in 2008. I'll be there and cheering in 2028 when they finally win it all. (Heard it here first!)

By "win it all" do you mean the NFC North?

but one less NFL playoff win, so suck it Cubs.

Also changed ownership shortly before their championship. Before that, they had over a CENTURY of mediocrity due to the miserliness of the ownership and bad luck.

The Lions probably have the most attractive HC job opening. That hasn't been said ever, not even when they fired Wayne Fontes.

it's even written in their corporate bylaws.

As long as the Ford family owns them. They are uninterested in fielding a consistently competitive team, getting to the playoffs, or winning playoff games on a regular basis.
Not so with Michigan. Excellence is expected, no, DEMANDED, and the program history reflects that, mostly. If they're not winning, something is WRONG, and the institution tries to fix the problem.
Not so the Lions. As long as the fans keep showing up for home games, and the TV revenues keep rolling in, the Fords don't give a shit.

Kaz is short for my home town, Kalamazoo. But this is exactly why while I stayed a Detroit team in other sports, I switched to the Redskins in 1981. No one in my family ever asked me why I didn't stay a Lions fan, LOL. They knew.
Note the Redskins have sucked the last 25 years and I haven't blinked. I'm a loyal fan. But the price of my fandom is you have to WANT to win.
The Fords never did. Every time we started to get good, it was salary dump time

Wouldn't be surprised if the Lions hire Matt Patricia.

The memories. I still laugh when thinking about the cross town rivalry between Communist Martyrs High and More Science High. Principal Poop proclaiming the purpose of education being "Give them a light and they'll follow it anywhere."

This comment prompted a search. You are proven correct, and I want the Lions to hire him for this fact alone. He's like the love child of Tormound and Gimli.

would be a waste of his time. He will not have the necessary authority over personnel as long as the Fords are in charge.

sounds like it will probably be Patricia given the connection with Quinn. Haven't even heard about them being interested in Pep.

That I do not know, but honestly good riddance. However, it makes me question whether either coach really gave 100% effort with the team during Bowl Prep. That game had the same feeling as DJ Durkin preparing for OSU after already accepting the Maryland job.

In retrospect it sure does seem like there may have been some Durkining.
