Update: Offensive Coaching Staff Overhaul
Reading more and more that Dan Enos and Greg Roman will likely be the newest additions to the Michigan coaching staff, replacing Drevno, Pep, and Frey (all of which rumored to have accepted jobs elsewhere). This basically confirms what our "insider" MGoBlog accounts have been posting throughout the day with regards to the coaching changes. In bringing in Greg Roman, it appears that Harbaugh is planning on switching to the pistol offense that he ran with Colin Kaepernick in SF. He's got the QB's for it in Patterson, McCaffrey, and Milton, as well as athletic WR's in DPJ, Black, and Collins. Let's hope it revitalizes the offense for next season.
Note* Nothing is confirmed but I highly doubt that every UM Insider who's been tracking these moves is wrong

Where are Drevno and Pep off to?

Cleveland

Pep HC and Drevno OC from what I here.

I want Michigan to improve. But that means the lions are getting fucked too.
January 3rd, 2018 at 6:30 AM ^
The Lions are fucked regardless. Might as well improve Michigan.

My 46 years of watching the Lions proves you tell the truth.
Boy, but some day, it'll all be worth it....
January 3rd, 2018 at 9:02 AM ^
Not as long for me, but I was there an cheering in 2008. I'll be there and cheering in 2028 when they finally win it all. (Heard it here first!)

Just think of how much highly anticipated fun it will be to watch those Geico Sloth commercials to catapult and raise the speed bar of the Lions new Ham/Drev offensive pace during the Annual Turkey Day Game!!!!!!
January 3rd, 2018 at 12:19 PM ^
By "win it all" do you mean the NFC North?
January 3rd, 2018 at 9:35 AM ^
like the Cubs!
January 3rd, 2018 at 11:19 AM ^
win the Super Bowl?
January 3rd, 2018 at 1:05 PM ^
but one less NFL playoff win, so suck it Cubs.

Also changed ownership shortly before their championship. Before that, they had over a CENTURY of mediocrity due to the miserliness of the ownership and bad luck.

The Lions probably have the most attractive HC job opening. That hasn't been said ever, not even when they fired Wayne Fontes.
January 3rd, 2018 at 9:26 AM ^
it's even written in their corporate bylaws.
January 3rd, 2018 at 1:29 PM ^
As long as the Ford family owns them. They are uninterested in fielding a consistently competitive team, getting to the playoffs, or winning playoff games on a regular basis.
Not so with Michigan. Excellence is expected, no, DEMANDED, and the program history reflects that, mostly. If they're not winning, something is WRONG, and the institution tries to fix the problem.
Not so the Lions. As long as the fans keep showing up for home games, and the TV revenues keep rolling in, the Fords don't give a shit.

Kaz is short for my home town, Kalamazoo. But this is exactly why while I stayed a Detroit team in other sports, I switched to the Redskins in 1981. No one in my family ever asked me why I didn't stay a Lions fan, LOL. They knew.
Note the Redskins have sucked the last 25 years and I haven't blinked. I'm a loyal fan. But the price of my fandom is you have to WANT to win.
The Fords never did. Every time we started to get good, it was salary dump time

Boo to anyone who “switches teams.”

Quick google search shows no news of them being interviewed for the position. Hopefully lions give the job to Jim Bob

The Matthew Stafford endorsement, it's just a matter of time. Dear Lord, I hope not.

Quinn has said that there is no player input with the next Lions hire. Dude is a boss
January 3rd, 2018 at 6:36 AM ^
Wouldn't be surprised if the Lions hire Matt Patricia.

Rocky Roccoco sends a special salute to Marx & Lennon. One of the best satirical albums from FT. Also loved "The Tale of the Giant Rat of Sumatra" with Hemlock Stones...

"Rocky Rococco, at your cervix." Listening to Firesign Theater repeatedly while tripping out on pure blotter acid in '71 is still one of the greatest experiences of my life. I think that Marx/Lennon was their finest work, although Dwarf/Pliers was pretty damn close.

The memories. I still laugh when thinking about the cross town rivalry between Communist Martyrs High and More Science High. Principal Poop proclaiming the purpose of education being "Give them a light and they'll follow it anywhere."

This comment prompted a search. You are proven correct, and I want the Lions to hire him for this fact alone. He's like the love child of Tormound and Gimli.
January 3rd, 2018 at 1:31 PM ^
would be a waste of his time. He will not have the necessary authority over personnel as long as the Fords are in charge.

A boss who needs to fix the running game, offensive, and defensive lines once again.

No way pep will be a head coach
January 3rd, 2018 at 8:34 AM ^
No way Pep is HC and Drevno OC
January 3rd, 2018 at 9:01 AM ^
sounds like it will probably be Patricia given the connection with Quinn. Haven't even heard about them being interested in Pep.

That I do not know, but honestly good riddance. However, it makes me question whether either coach really gave 100% effort with the team during Bowl Prep. That game had the same feeling as DJ Durkin preparing for OSU after already accepting the Maryland job.
January 3rd, 2018 at 12:45 AM ^
In retrospect it sure does seem like there may have been some Durkining.

Lots of churn before NYE. Keep an open mind on the additions and subtractions. Enos and Al Washington are two names to watch. I know we have been in contact with Roman too.
Relatively significant changes are coming. Could be as little as 1 retained on offense and 3 on defense. Waiting to see how it all shakes out.

Please tell us that Dr. Blitz isn't going anywhere! And Mattison!

Retained.
Worried about Partridge though. He has a tough decision to make.
