Unfounded and ridiculous rumor (Move along)

[ED:BISB: Can't unpublish or lock because of stupid Javascript.  In the meantime, it stays up because it is at least noteworthy that a 'professional' (#HALOL) journalist raised the issue, and because I don't want to out-and-out delete it. Sufficed to say that it is certainly false. Rob Parker is a professional Concern Troll.]

Hey guys, sorry if this has been discussed some place else. I searched and didn't find anything. I was watching Sports Final Edition on Channel 4 for those of us in SE Michigan. They started talking about State so I put my headphones on and went back to studying. I saw some Gardner highlight and I took my headphones off long enough just to hear Rob Parker talking about Gardner being the QB of the future and how big of a loss it would be if he were to leave. WTF is this about? I know Parker is full of BS sometimes (read: most of the time) but is there any substance to this? No other mention on the interwebz of this that I could find. Like I said, I just caught the end of the interview, so I apologize if I may have missed anything more substantive that he said. Not trying to stir any panic or anything.

when Devin Gardner committed to Michigan, he knew for a fact that there was Tate Forcier and Denard Robinson in front of him. At the time it was maybe Denard Robinson, and Tate Forcier the returning starter. My point is Devin committed with two in front of him, and knew the risks. He in fact is a lot closer to playing time now than he was going to be, and actually gets some game time.

Obviously if he is a competitor, he should want to play, but why would he not be "the happiest" when he is in the situation he signed up for?  Frankly the fact that he is seeing the field in situations other than as a backup is unusual, and means the coaches value him.

have to explore your options. It's that kind of world, and both best friends and coaches understand that. Waiting until his senior year to start is tough, considering that he might feel he will be ready next year. Still--as others point out--if he had to sit a year anyway, he'd have to have some serious guarantees.

I'm mildly frustrated by the QB situation myself, but only because we haven't really maximized Denard. Usual disclaimers, etcetera, as Brian says; this stuff happens.

You're judging Devin Gardner off of what you've seen IN GAMES?

What the fuck?! That doesn't even make sense. He doesn't get 1st team reps the week before in practice. He's played in spot duty.

You're judging him off of THAT?!

Maybe you should let the coaches who see Devin in PRACTICE make the call until he gets significant time in games, with 1st team reps in practice, with a full offseason as the #1 QB.

Hey guys, Desmond Morgan sucks. Thomas Rawls is transfer worthy. Chris Bryant...he must be horrible if he can't get PT. Will Campbell is a BUST!

why is this garbage still up

Nice thread title, btw.  How the fuck do you not understand that "if he were to leave" does not constitute speculation that he is leaving?

I'm not a real big advice giver but if you do in fact know he is a troll you're probably better off ignoring anything he says, and definitely not repeating it here.

My wife, the mall rat and not shy, just came home from Briarwood Mall.  She ran into Kenny Demens and Devin Gardner.   She did not know them by sight, just that with their size and dress, looked like football players.  She stopped them and asked if they were on the team.  They said they were and gave her their names.  What impressed her the most was how polite and gentlemenly they were.  She told them they broke her heart with the MSU loss (for us and them) and that MSU fans & players are such . . . and did not finish the sentence when one of them said:  "Go ahead and say it, because we can't".  She finished the sentence with: "assholes" and they both laughed.  Gardner was the more talkative, Demens a little reserved, but one of them said:  "Don't worry ma'am, we have OSU & Nebraska coming up and we feel pretty good about them."  She said she loves Brady and they said they do too.  Gardner gave her a big hug and Demens shook her hand.  Nothing earthshattering on the so called rumor, just a tid bit that does not look like a guy who is unhappy with the program.
