Not even attempting to make passes out of the zone.  Everything is glass and out or flippers to the neutral zone.  Tough to get possession and zone entries with that.

It's not so much the D that's the problem, it's that every time we get the puck we're just chucking it out to center ice so that we're basically on a constant PK. The offense needs to be possessing more to minimize North Dakota's. You can't block everything. Possession = shots

Well this doesn't look good. It's a mis-judgment to say that they're faster than Michigan. Michigan is one of the fastest teams in hockey, period. The problem is that Michigan doesn't know how to deal with a team that is fast, precise, and just plain good. You can see it in the own-zone passes; against teams like PSU, they are sharp. But Michigan knows they have Hawks draped all over them and aren't used to dealing with the pressure, and they're making mistakes. I said they needed the game of their lives. Not there so far. This could get ugly.

chance to go in the room, regroup, and get with it.  Need a hell of a lot more effort to stay with these guys.  Getting killed on 50/50 pucks all over the ice, as we did against ND.  We played about 15 minutes of that period like we were on the PK, happy to get puck out to center, change, and defend again.

"Noooobody talks about Quinnipiac. They're one of the most underrated 1-seeds I've sen in a long time"

about the team that's been #1 all season, has the #1 overall seed, and is the favorite to win the tournament. Amazing how they've managed to fly under the radar this whole time...

I was in St. Paul in 2002 when a superior Minnesota team outplayed us. I was in Buffalo in 2003-the OT loser right in front of me. I was in St. Paul again in 2011, and make a home in the worst possible place for a Michigan Hockey fan after that game. My pessimism is well earned.

I understand that our guys just played in an overtime game and that might explain the seeming disparity in speed.  But it doesn't explain getting absolutely outworked on the boards.
