Doooood Cormier's gas tank is far from meager. Hasn't ever been a gas tank issue for him when it comes to the two Jones fights. He's just not long enough to deal with the constant pounding he takes from walking down a guy who throws a stupid array of kicks. Jones' length/strength combo also negates DC's takedowns entirely.

This is one of the best cards UFC has put together bar none. Joe Rohan on his podcast this week was pumped for the pay per view and I hope it lives up to its billing.

I still can't believe people are entertained by humans beating the shit out of each other.  I guess some take longer to acclimate to modern civilization than others.

I remember Max Kellerman said something like: Humans' favorite sports are the combat sports even if we wouldn't like to admit it. If two guys were outside fighting right across the street from a 5 on 5 basketball game, which would have a bigger crowd?

That's a terrible analogy. Many of the people would go to the fight to see what was going on and some to make sure everyone was safe. If there was a car accident outside and a 5 on 5 basketball game...which would get the bigger crowd? The comment your responding to was asinine but this is even worse.

No I'm ripping him for a terrible analogy.

And thank you for the correction. I try not to make that mistake or there/their...but sometimes I'm rushing and just don't give a fuck.

In what way? They know more about their respective sport than announcers for every other sport that comes to mind. If I had a dollar for every time an ESPN announcer said something incredibly stupid during a college football game, I'd be able to pay off a large chunk of my college debt. Rogan and Cruz are constantly giving viewers insights into martial arts that you rarely see in other sports. Sure, the delivery can be lacking, but who cares when they're walking you through the mechanics of a kimura in guard.

Yeah, depends on what you're looking for in the delivery. I personally love Rogan during UFC events - he brings Gus Johnson levels of excitement to an already exciting sport. Add that to the fact that he's a black belt in multiple branches of MMA and you have yourself a great announcer.

..depending on who you ask ;)

Man, that was hard to watch. You could argue DC was winning the fight considering he was pushing the pace and landing more powerful head strikes, but damn, that kick was impeccable. As soon as it landed we're all screaming NO NO NO NOOOOO.

Have to give credit to Jones, even if he is rotten and exceptionally fake. Hopefully Lesnar throws him on his head.

Both USADA and the NSAC suspended him, but he's eligible to return as of this month.

And yeah, it's hard to pick between Jones and Lesnar, but you go with the lesser of two evils. I was also a huge DC supporter because of his absurd wrestling and output for a guy his size, so I'm looking for some cheap vengeance.

may have some problems privately. But, he's the best MMA fighter in the game and maybe ever. Basically he has never lost and just beats the crap out of everyone put in front of him. Honestly I think he would knock Lesnar out.

It was essentially a draw that went to the champ by default.

And I'm not so sure about Jones smashing him. Rogan described Gustafsson's last fight as "video game good". He'd be the underdog, but with a real shot at winning.
