U-M Baseball's Patrick Biondi
SIAP, but nice news for Patrick Biondi of the Wolverines baseball team and the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League. He's the starting centerfielder for the West Division in the Cape Cod Baseball League's All Star Game on Saturday. The game supposedly will be televised on Fox College Sports Network.
His uncle is a great friend of mine
...baseball. Reminds me of many a summer night as a kid walking over to the stadium from my grandmother's house to watch the Orleans Cardinals (now Firebirds) play.
Sitting on the hill, watching foul balls hit cars driving past...
Good times.
Mgoblue.com's Summer Updates page has a bit more on Biondi . . .
July 23, 2012 -- Patrick Biondi (Woodhaven, Mich./Divine Child) has been named to the West Roster for the 2012 Cape Cod League All-Star Game, which will be played Saturday, July 28 at 2 p.m., and shown on Fox College Sports. Biondi currently is hitting .405 with four doubles, a triple and 12 RBI for the Cotuit Kettleers. He also has 11 stolen bases for Cotuit.
. . . as well as details on how other Wolverines have been faring in various other leagues, including other All-Star performances.
Hope Bakich can get more players like Biondi. He's the type of player that made of the core of our nice run in the latter part of the previous decade. Wish I had this channel.
A Dearborn Divine Child grad, if I might add!
Once a Falcon, always a Falcon!
One of many! "Hail to thee, Our alma mater, Hail to thee..."
Good for Patrick.
I use to be a counselor for the Woodhaven Parks and Rec program and remember him when he was a 4th grader. He was a supperior athlete then compared to his peers.
Comes from a great family too.
GO BLUE!
