Young ass defense. This has been discussed a million times. We will have to out score people this year and maybe next. We might not like it, but you have to play the hand you are dealt.

Are they changing the rules of football after next year so you have to less points then the other team to win?

You suck

I guess just every week I'll have to enjoy the exact same topic. Fortunately we can outscore people as opposed to last year or the year before.

I understand that they are young but the tackling gets worse and worse every year and that is a coaching problem, especially when it is the whole team

Personal accountablilty man. These guys are college football players. They know how to tackle. Granted the Defense is bad, but I don't think it is all on GERG, the man coached two super bowl champion defenses. It is a known fact we have recruited badly the last few years, and have had a high rate of attrition.

Do you mean Ron "0-15" English? That Ron English? The one who was co-piloting when 0 adjustments were made against Appalachian State for the first 2+ quarters of The Horror?
I think English has a very rough hand to play at EMU, and I don't think many coaches could be expected to win in the near term there. But, I'm puzzled at all the worshipers the guy has.
Take a close look at '06. Look at the talent (Woodley, Branch, Harris, Crable, Prescott, Hall ... all future pros) he had available. His reputation was based largely on the first ten games or so of that season. Did you see what happened when they played OSU (42 points) and USC (32 points)? Don't forget Ball State's 26. What is the big deal about English, again?
This should not be interpreted as an endorsement of GERG. Hearing "bend but don't break" gives me a headache and reminds me of the worst part of the BoMoCarr years. The level of available talent has to be considered, though.

I really dont want Ron, i was joking but I do want Gerg replaced.... This Defense bends like Laffy Taffy.

I have never seen an OP that is quite as bad as this one, and that's really saying something given the state of this board as of late. Toussaint has been out with injury, and Ron English is freakin terrible. He's 0-15 and says really stupid things. He's also not that great as a DC. That 2006 defense had Pro Bowl caliber players on it.
September 25th, 2010 at 4:22 PM ^
I mean how many times has it been said on here that EVERYBODY has wanted to see Fitz give somebody else's D fits, and that he has been INJURED. From what I heard, that is why he redshirted last year, and that is why he hasn't played much this year. RR Knows what he is doing, and Gerg needs to stay. Outside of Death Roh, and Mouton, our LB corp's is very weak right now. As Demens (Who had a fairly good game today) and others get more experience, and grow older, our Defense has nowhere to go but up. Look at the recruits we are bringing in and the players we already have who are underclassmen, give it time. The OP is the same guy who probably has wanted to get rid of RR since day 1, and now he is sayIng "I knew Michigan's offense would turn it around!"

Enjoy the win, Gerg's coaching is not the best but there is nothing we can do about it. We practically have 7-5 on lock now and as long as Denard is fine we're going to press for 8-9 or maybe even 10 wins. I'm willing to give GERG a little more time but he is too passive for my liking. I enjoy watching defenses like Miami that play bump and run and force mistakes instead of sitting back in zones and hoping for them.
