I've heard he is taking the Colts gig starting this Sunday. Besides watching some film and having meetings he is tired of that waste of a day. If a man can be an NFL player and college assistant at the same time why not a college and pro coach at the same time?

Seriously. If this was all about the money and Jim Harbaugh wanted buku bucks, Jim would have buku bucks now. He would have waited a couple days to sign his deal and used all the NFL offers he would have gotten as leverage and gotten himself a bigger deal. He also would have signed a shorter term deal and not the 7 year one he did. Also his buy out must be massive right now, I mean Kirk Ferentz level massive. It will be hard for any team to justify paying Harbaugh's buy out and pay him a ginormous salary.

Yes, eventually Harbaugh will leave Michigan, when he's done and not before. Now whether that be when he retires or when he wins his 20 billionth national championship and Robot Jim Harbaugh comes to the slow realization that the college game is no longer a challenge and he decides that maybe a Lombardi trophy might satisfy his insatiable need to compete.

even when you consider that he's only making what the 49ers were paying him at the moment, IIRC. I believe his "real" contract will be created or amended after the season, per Hackett. Texas has F-U money (!), for sure, but so does Michigan. When everyone is on the same page there isn't a program that can outbid Michigan for something we really want. Money wouldn't be the issue for not getting what we want. Texas is in the same club but the exception is the HC's sentiments and desires. If Jim said he'd received a $15M a year offer from Texas that he couldn't turn down, we COULD offer $15.1M (and so on) if we wanted to. Money isn't an issue in regard to having it but at what point MICHIGAN would think NO PERSON is worth X amount. The good thing is that Jim's desires and sentiments truly wish to be in Ann Arbor, IMO. "GOD willing and the creek don't rise" = 1) As long as his personal belief in a creator allows him to live, stay healthy enough etc to literally DO the job. 2) As long as the Michigan program and fans want me here, through the patience of losses while building the program, his way of doing things, etc. Basically...."him". Even if a Michigan didn't have it on the Texas level, money isn't the issue here.

Not to detract from his personal loyalty to Michigan in any way but, Harbaugh made about $0.5M/yr in the 80's, about $2-3M/yr in the 90's, and after pay cuts to start his coaching career, $3-4M/yr in the 00's.  He doesn't seem the kind of guy that would waste it on hookers, blow, a posse or private jets.  He's been sitting pretty high atop Maslow's hierarchy for some time now.
