Troy Gloster to WVU

Submitted by TomVH on

Troy Gloster, linebacker out of Good Counsel has committed to West Virginia.

He said he built the strongest relationship with Casteel than with anyone else recruiting him.

Bummer....I dont understand why one would pick a program probably destined to decline over one likely to continue to move forward that is in despirate need of LBs? Oh well, who's our next contestant??

"Destined to decline"? By whose standards? Have you checked out the recruitng they're doing?

It all begins with talent, and they are doing a pretty good job of getting it. You might want to give Stewart and his staff some time before you judge them (sound familiar?)--and he did keep Casteel as DC--something I think has hampered Rodriguez more than a bit so far at Michigan.

They gave up 20 points to Liberty, a "school" which allows players to start if they see an angel in their dorm room. The special teams (Stewart's responsibility) seem to regress by the week, and he still is not great at that whole time management thingy-bob, gosh durn it.

Even the natives who love themselves a down-home boy seem restless.

With Cincy flying and Pitt not terrible, WVU is destined to slide into the second tier of the Big Least. Pat White's heroics are the only thing that kept them afloat last year.

RR made them great, and he's gone. They are riding the wave of that success in recruiting, but it's heading for a cliff.

I know that Michigan isn't really "in it" but was still listed (at least according to today's Wednesday Recruitin').

But yeah, he's a Nittany Lion. Their defensive recruiting is absolutely sick (oh and so is the offense).

I'm hoping for a bigger bang than Gloster or for that matter Swigert. Nothing against them as they seem solid but, I would like to see some with game changing possibilities such as Furman, Parker, Christian, Floyd (I can hope), Anthony Barr, A. Olaniyan.

Anthony Barr isn't coming to Michigan. Why is he suddenly popping up on so many posts? We offered him a long time ago and nobody talked about him much. Then over the past couple weeks a bunch of people have been tossing him in there as a possibility.

Obviously, anything's possible, but stop. Just stop.

For what it's worth, King Beaver has been dousing the flames of his seemingly imminent committment to Michigan for quite some time--as in pretty much immediately.

It seems the Michigan publicity along with his decommittment from Duke have awakened the interest of other schools--most notably Notre Dame--whom Beaver thinks Aramide really wants. Beaver has been saying it's either them--or Olaniyan will go west.

Say you're a Michigan fan, and have been your entire life. You aren't offered a scholarship by M, but you are offered a lot of other places. You decide early on to commit to Vanderbilt. Then, 2 months later, Rich Rodriguez calls and gives you a scholarship offer. Are you sticking with Vandy?
