did I miss the sarcasm tag?  46.4 fg%, 41.8 from 3, and 87.8 % from the line are numbers that put him markedly above the norm for 2s and 3s.  He plays---because of his shooting.

While I'm here, and though I echo how well Trey and Timmy are playing, any list that has Plumlee 2nd--at 17 minutes, 6.5 point, 2.9 rebounds and less than 1 assist per game -- simply lacks integrity--from a statistical basis and a real-world smell test.

Hardaway has been surprisingly good so far.  He has the third highest PER on his team and really should be taking more minutes from JR Smith.

Trey is getting better every game.  The Jazz were awful without him and now they're looking like a halfway decent team.  Before he was put into the starting line up, the Jazz were 1-13.  Since then, they've gone 4-6, with their only regulation losses coming to current playoff teams (including 2 to Portland, and one each to Indiana and OKC, who have the 3 best records in the league).

Hardaway will probably be a fringe starter or 6th or 7th man for his whole career, but that will probably be a while.  Burke, OTOH, could be really special once he gets a few more games under his belt.

Why do you think he will be a fringe starter or 6th man his entire career? He did very well in playing Scottie to Trey's Jordan here at Michigan. He has good handles, plays good defense, can create his own shot, and brings a lot of energy to the floor. THJ is quickly developing into a well-rounded, solid player. Why would you keep a guy like that on the bench? Especially since he's tall enough to play either SG or SF.

Although he turned it over very little at Michigan, it wasn't really because of his handles.  Cognitive bias maybe, but he always seemed a little sloppy.  I'd say he has potential to be a decent defender.  The problem is his lateral quickness.  Straight line speed and length are there, motor varies.

THJ could be a starter, but I don't think he's gonna be a high usage guy.  Corner 3 dude, yes.  He won't be Klay Thompson.

That was not meant to be an insult to him at all.  My point was that he'll never be an end of the bench type guy.

I don't think he'll ever be a sure-fire starter though.  I don't think he's big enough to be an NBA 3 (in either height or bulk) and I think he's a solid 2-guard.  Being a fringe starter is not a knock.  I think he'll be somewhere between the 20th and 40th best SG in the league at any given time.  I just don't think he'll ever be a Harden or Kobe or Wade or one of the 10-15ish best guys at his position.

to see Wolters on there. We had a VERY tough tourney run and almost managed to pull it out. Pretty cool stuff. sidenote: have watched a few Jazz games. our boy has made a seamless transition

The only thing I'm curious about is Trey's defense. I haven't been able to watch Jazz games, but I checked some box scores and it appears opposing PG's have played pretty well against the Jazz.

I was a thj hater and wrote him off before the season started. I think he's got the potential to be a very useful scorer off the bench on a contender, and at the least should be tallying more minutes on that atrocious Knicks team.

I think he can be a starter on a team with an good PG (he can't carry a teams back court). He can be a good number 3-4 option IMO on a playoff team.

He stroke is that good and he can get a shot off virtually anytime he wants. Plus, with the 3pt threat he forces teams to close out in a hurry but has the ability to drive all the way in for a dunk. ie you run him off the 3pt line he can still make you pay.

If a team has a Big 3 he would be a great #4 option on a playoff team. That will probably be his best shot at a ring down the road.

Burke IMO will be a very solid starting PG. Not sure if he can make all star level consistently. More of a Chauncy Billips "big shot making" type player but not the #1 option.

In perspective. Maybe we should be a little more patient with Mitch and the rest of the boys. As of now we lost the 3rd and 4th rookies in the whole NBA? Wow...

LOL on the comment they make about KCP, which is basically, "even though his shooting stats are god-awful, his shooting form LOOKS GREAT!"

Fantastic.  A shooting guard that looks great while missing shots.  Just what the Pistons needed.

he's not being asked to shoot a ton since he's the 5th option on the team.  However, he showed that he can be an elite defensive player with his length, quickness and ability to disrupt the passing lanes.  If you look at the numbers with KCP on/off the floor, Pistons are significantly better defensively with him on the floor than without him.  As long as he can be a Bruce Bowen type at SG, I'd be happy.  He can shoot the ball out of the gym, but I think once he settles into the rotation, Cheeks will ask him to shoot the ball more, but Jennings, Smith, Moose and Drummond will take shots before getting it to him.

It's interesting that everyone says KCP is such an elite shooter, considering he didn't show it it college and he is not showing it yet in his brief NBA career.  I guess he much shoot great in practice or something.  I'm not saying he doesn't have range to hit shots, but he had never been an exceptionally high percentage shooter.

watch him at UGA. It was pretty much KCP and nobodies.  UGA had to depend on KCP to score a ton if they want to win games.  He is getting box and one treatment with zero space to shoot.  It's much harder to shoot efficiently if you're the only one who can score and everybody else suck.  There is a reason why he won SEC POY despite playing on a shitty team.  They knew he can play and can shoot.
