Trey Burke appreciation thread

Submitted by yoyo on

Burke was a great player and has just solidified legend status.  He dominated the 2nd half, hit practically a half court three to win the game, favorite to win the Naismith, all American.  He's done it all and done it with class.  Thank you Trey!

Trey  willed the win....reminds me of Jordan when he would put a game in his own hands.

Trey had ten assists on top of the 3's.  Hell of a show by Mitch.

I have been harping on Trey Burke all season for trying to do too much and not involving the other guys on the floor during big games. Obviously, I am an idiot, and Trey is the man. Thought this game was over...glad I was wrong.

OH DAYUM! I am still doing Homer Simpson style horizontal circular running on the floor.

I do believe Burke is a Master jedi Warrior who has mastered the light side of The Force.

We've been barking at Trey all season for trying too hard to play hero ball, and even after this, I believe that's still warranted. But we've also been waiting for him to hit that clutch shot at the end of a game, much like he just missed out on for both OSU games.

We got it tonight. Trey tries too hard sometimes, but we wouldn't be here without him.

Wolverine historians refresh my memory. Was that deep three the most epic shot in wolverine bball history or was it not? It definitely wins as far back as my memories go.

more than worth it, but I seriously regret that I'm actually going to have to follow an NBA team whenever he does go. I will root for him forever! Thanks to Trey and the whole team, for an unbelievable game (literally literally), and a stone cold killer to go to OT!!! And Huge props to Mitch - awesome game just to keep it in range. GO BLUE! Love this team!!!

a lot of those deep 3's at the buzzer this season. It has prepared him for these moments. Have to have guts to take those big shots.

One of the best things about Burke, in my opinion, is something that we saw in the game against South Dakota State. Trey Burke, even in a down moment, is out there facilitating the offense and making a difference in the flow and direction of the game. He has scored 25% of Michigan's points this season, but even more importantly, he owns 47.2% of the team's assists. His presence is felt in every aspect of Michigan's game.

Tonight, it showed as well - 23 points but 10 of the 18 assists that Michigan accumulated. I dare say that it has been a while since Michigan has had a player whose style and game was that omnipresent on the court, and it has been an honor to watch.

I was cursing his name for most of the game.  He was settling for jumpers and not playing agressive enough for my liking.  Then he just went HAM! And that's what great players do when Destiny calls their name. Congratulations Trey! We will miss you! Everything you have done for this program is much appreciated!

Burke's back must be hurting right now, while watching overtime I came under the impression that he just couldn't miss.  I was getting so frustrated with his performance throughout, but he stepped up like the leader he needs to be, and he'll forever go down in wolverine lore for it.
