Tournament Round 2 Open/Betting Thread

Submitted by MGoCombs on
I know folks are still a bit burned after last night, but on the bright side, we have an OSU and MSU-less tourney to enjoy. Go Yale. We also get a "rare in the modern era" Kentucky-Indiana matchup that should be great. On my way to Tijuana to the sports book to get in on some action. Any MGoGamblers have their lock picks? I really liked Wichita to cover but didn't get there in time. Dodged a bullet there. Should be a great day.

Thursday I picked the winner in all games except Purdue.  Yesterday my bracket went up in complete flames and I have zero chance of winning any pool I'm in (yes I picked MSU).

And it was wonderful.

When points disappeared, we had a couple people test their posting capability last night and at least the permissions that everyone should have - mod and non-mod alike - seemed to be preserved then, so we thought those who could post threads should still be able to do it. If that's not happening now, that's a new development. Weird. I still have all the edit functions, so that hasn't gone....yet.

put in 4 bets for today:

Butler +8 vs Virginia

Gonzaga -Utah game under 140

UNC Providence game under 153

Arkansas Little Rock vs Iowa St under 144

I really like Butler getting 8 from Virginia this afternoon. Butler hits the boards hard, which I'm thinking will give them a lot of second chance opportunities against an otherwise stout defense.

Duke vs. Yale. When I watch this game I can't help but think about how everyone on that court is going to be making more money than all of us in the future, whether they become NBA lottery picks, hot shot investment bankers or the next CEO of Google.

His teams win, and they win big, so he doesn't have to do anything.

I don't pay enough attention to know if Grayson Allen is NBA material, but if he is, I'd love to see him try this once he gets into the league. He'd get put in his place by a Curry, Lebron or Durant pretty quickly.

That stat had to be a typo. It said Grayson Allen is 14/20 from the free throw line this season. This is Dukes 35th game and he averages 21 pts a game, how can he have only shot 20 free throws all season? That doesn't seem possible.

This is one of the few times I find myself rooting for Indiana. Don't let me down Crean.

I hate to say it...but this Indiana team reminds me of our final 4 team.

Very good PG play
Talented + athletic wings
The veteran big man off the bench
And finally the Energetic Freshman Center

Man. It's weird seeing big men actually dunk instead of going for soft layups and missing them half the time.
