Top 5 Underrated College Football Teams (College Football News)

It's slow... news wise, and since 3 of the 5 will be of interest to most on the board... thought I'd pass it along.

CMU:

"Kansas, Syracuse and Boston College all have to watch out against a team with all of the top receivers returning, six of the top eight tacklers back, a fantastic running back situation, and former Michigan star recruit Shane Morris being just fine in place of Rush."

Cincinnati: Season Home opener

Floridia Atlantic:

Michigan:

NC State:

you're confusing potential with proven talent.  And as far as experience goes, we have less of it than just about any other DI team, so we're more like 2-10, but fortunately it doesn't matter how inexperienced our guys are, as long as they make plays.

We play OSU in the regular season. We don't have a talent advantage in that game. If we win The Game/ B1G and make the playoff, we're looking at teams like Alabama, OSU again, USC, Florida State, or someone who was good enough to beat them. I don't see a talent advantage there either. We have great talent, but 15-0 talent, to me, means we have more than anyone. Just not there yet IMO. Usually the response to a post like this is simply "Harbaugh!" Yeah, Harbaugh is awesome and will get the best out of our guys, but let's not pretend like Saban, Meyer, Jimbo, etc. are incompetent. If you meant sufficient talent to go 15-0, I agree. I'd argue, though, that the odds aren't exactly forever in our favor.

Fickell is the only guy who has made OSU look average in the last 20 years. I'm skeptical he's going to do anything noteworthy at Cinci other than boost their recruiting profile for a few years

Same for Kiffin. I mean....I don't know why people keep hiring this guy. He was bad at Oakland, bad at Tennessee, bad at USC, and now he's going to be good at FAU? Ok.

Fick? Seriously??? He'll be dangerous as all hell without the three people he's had above him on succeeding teams. I expect he'll get the Rutgers treatment come early September.

Fickle couldn't coach his way out of a wet paper bag despite massive talent advantages at Ohio State. Call me skeptical when said advantage is no longer there.

It might not be early on, but it’ll beat Florida to start the season, and that’ll be enough for a 6-0 start before the showdown at Penn State.

Well, I will say that if we roll into that game 6-0, it would make things maximally interesting, especially if Penn State is on a similar roll.

I didn't know Kiffin was heading to Madison for Week 2. I'm curious to see him back head coaching. Anyway, my predictions fluctuate between 8 or more wins, so all of these underrated/overrated write-ups seem possible to me.
