TomVH writes a book: The Road to Ann Arbor
SIAP, but Tom Van Haaren has written a book called "The Road to Ann Arbor." It details the stories of how a bunch of Michigan stars ended up wearing the winged helmet. It's not releasing until early September, which is coming up quickly. I'm excited to get started on it, and I'm sure a bunch of you would be interested in reading it, too.
Here's a link to it on Amazon (LINK).

They tried to use that name instead, but it's copyrighted, so there were just too many potholes.

...or if you're coming from closer to Detroit, I-94.
If you're interested in the roads less travelled on game days, Ford Road or Plymouth Road from Wayne County or M-14 to Main Street and then as far south as you can before traffic makes it impossible.

Yes. Everyone listen to LSA. Go on Main as far south as possible. That way nobody gets in my way while I shoot down to my parking spot. Don’t think about 4th or 5th or anything else just stay on Main.

Appears to be stuff from several decades ago. According to the Amazon blurb:
"Why did Desmond Howard spurn Nick Saban to play in Ann Arbor? How did Michigan really find All-American offensive lineman Reggie McKenzie? What did Bo Schembechler do that surprised Mark Messner and his family? And why was Tom Brady recruited so late in the process? The Road to Ann Arbor"
This should be fun, there was very little publicity on recruiting back then. I wonder how far forward it goes.

It goes all the way up to Aubrey Solomon, but this is mostly a retro look at recruiting - stories from prior to the Rivals/Scout era.

Thanks. It will be interesting to see how early stories compare to the recruiting that he personally covered.
