Tom Brady appreciation thread

Next week will be his 11th AFC Title game, and record 6th in a row. That is absolutely mind boggling. I can't imagine anyone ever comes close to equaling that feat.

I could be wrong, but Tom Brady might now be the career leader now in playoff games - I haven't looked at the stat in a while, but I think he has passed the likes of Jerry Rice, Peyton Manning, D.D. Lewis and yes, even Adam Vinatieri. That's a pretty impressive feat as well, just ot be in that many postseason games.

In 17 years peyton played in 27 games (14-13 in 15 seasons). 9 of 15 were one and dones. By comparison, Brady is only at 32 games, but he's 22-9 and has played fewer games mostly because they get the bye a lot. Only 2 one and dones in 14 seasons. GOAT.

All of the talking heads are saying how bad NE looked - what a bunch of BS. Yes, they made some uncharacteristic mistakes, but they covered the spread (which was one of the largest, if not the largest, spread in post season history).

And with Lewis setting his own post season record, I think they should cut them some slack. Brady's all time achievement #'s are insane.

Was out running errands this AM and talk radio was grading the Pats on style points for last night.  Yes, not their best game, but in 29 other cities they would be celebrating the win and getting to the conference championship game.  If you saw Brady and Belichick after the game, would've thought the Pats lost.

Onto Houston!!!

It's just insane to me how good he/they have been for so long. Dumb people like to just say they cheat but that's not it. It just makes no sense. I'm somebody that doesn't usually hate on bad teams, and even if I was I couldn't hate on Brady. He does it the right way. He kind of seems like a dork sometimes though.

The franchise does everything to gain a competitive edge. Players are selected for specific skill sets, plays are designed to exploit opponents weakness, and the team plays with an expectation that they will win. Brady, at the most important position, has the skills and winning attitude to make it all possible. It's interesting how many good players are released and the next team sees their play fall offf. Other "why him?" players are brought in and excell.

No one here is suggesting that a win over the Texans is impressive. What Tom Brady has done over his career is what we're celebrating. While I am not a Patriots fan, I think it's important to recognize greatness wherever it exists. When all is said and done, a Michigan man will be the greatest quarterback of all time, and that is pretty fucking cool.
