Today was a solid sport's day, and other life reflections open thread.

Michigan won. ND lost. MSU lost. We're one day closer to basketball season. Columbus succumbed to the plague after one too many poops was left in a cooler. I caught up on my readings for the week. Tried Sierra Nevada's Kellerweis and enjoyed it. Solid day, can't complain.

as their 2014 defense proved again to be overrated; ND lost and had lots of lame excuses (it was soooo hot in the desert; it's hard to adjust after playing Navy); and Michigan won.  Good day overall, but maybe a few too many beers...naw!!

Went to the game today but went with a friend from UoM who I haven't seen in a while. We laughed together about how bad both teams were. Ended up being a pretty good time I must say.

Now we just need Michigan to beat OSU to ensure bowl eligibility and erase any pretense they have of an opportunity to play for the National Championship.  And if not Michigan, then Minnesota, Indiana or whoever they meet in Indianapolis.

Let me just say that a Minnesota-Ohio State meeting in Indianpolis would be the most B1G thing in a year of very B1G things. Indeed, if there has every been a year where the conference's perception around the country were to be at last confirmed as a bizarre place where the very fabric of football disintegrates during certain games, it would be this year.

After watching the MooU/O$U game I was further reminded that Hoke has a less than zero percent chance of being successful in the B1G. Anyone who thinks otherwise quit drinking and go to bed or find a new team. Hoke is so far out of his element. I'm going to start calling him Donnie.

I made some good food, drank a few beers, watched lots of Big Ten games, ALA-LSU, and finished with Oregon-Utah. Michigan won, but not in a fashion that will gave many second thoughts about the coaching clean-sweep that needs to happen. Pretty much a perfect Saturday.
