Tim (prev from VB) predictions?

Submitted by MinorRage on

Alright while I love to see Brian's preview I always enjoyed reading Tim's on VB as well. I'm sure the content would all be very similar but it would be cool to at least get some of the other Mod's score predictions/keys to the game with Brian's write up. Anybody else want to see this?

...for 38-0, good guys ;)

In all seriousness, I think that Our Lady has struggled against defenses with a pulse. They won't be able to protect Clausen long enough to throw the long ball, and their line won't open serious holes for the RB to find. Expect Captain Front Butt to call a flea flicker or other tricky play early. On offense, I expect the Michigan O-Line to put the girls on skates and have 8-9 ypc. Run game success will limit the blitzes that Our Lady can call (because nothing slows down a blitzer like (insert your favorite of: Brandon Minor/Carlos Brown/Michael Shaw/Denard Robinson here) blowing by them and knocking them over with his wake). So they will have to put 8 in the box, and then Matthews/Koger (and Hemmingway, because I think the injury report is gamesmanship) will be able to work downfield against the secondary. So maybe 27-10 is a better guess...but I still like Michigan in this game.

We can probably incorporate it in the actual preview in the next few weeks. Without even seeing what Brian wrote (I've been on the road traveling back to Ann Arbor), I would guess that the game is probably going to be played in the 24-38 point range.

Notre Dame looks pretty good this year, but they've fooled us in that respect before, have they not? If the UM offense can get going (and the freshmen can continue avoiding mistakes of inexperience), I think the Wolverines can pull out a fairly close game, probably something like 31-27.
