Leaders And Best

I have a hard time believing that the entire board unanimously agrees to reinstate immediately if there is enough in the investigative findings that the President wants to suspend him. OSU has a large board like PSU's.

I also have a hard time believing that this is the one guy with sources when every other reporter on the beat has had nothing, and no one has come out of the building to talk to anyone. I guess someone on the board could be texting him, but why would someone on the board do that right now.

It's the perfect way to report when you may know nothing, and typical of stuff you see on these paysites like Rivals and 247Sports. Gets it right either way and no one will actually know what anyone was thinking in the meeting.

I don't think they'd be dumb enough to do that. If the only person who gets fired coming out of this is the university President, who has now been reported to have actually stood up to imposing a punishment for a coach that covered up domestic violence, that's an incredibly bad look for OSU. They'd have found a way to make their PR storm even worse than just reinstating him immediately.

That said, I have no doubt that they'll still find a way to politically overpower Drake, because football is ultimately what matters there over anything else.

This whole Drake "Standing up" etc is BS. Where is the evidence? Evidence would be in a presser or firing urban. Otherwise, you are of the same OSU ilk of garbage.

Can you almost win football games? No.

OSU is a dirty program and soon it will be further evidence to support that fact.

Of course I have to head into a meeting and turn my phone off. We all know he won’t lose his job. May just take a little longer to get everyone on the same page.

Per someone with a blue checkmark on twitter dot com whom I do not know, the President wants him suspended, the Board wants no punishment, and Meyer won't accept a punishment because he thinks he did nothing wrong, hence the impasse.  This is of extremely unverified voracity, but I'm passing it along, I guess.

Also per someone on twitter dot com Gene Smith just arrived at the building.

The fact that Meyer thinks he did nothing wrong just shows how disgusting he is as a human being.  "Reporting" the jackass has nothing to do with right and wrong.  Meyer knowingly hired and knowingly retained a serial domestic abuser.  He knew this crap was happening and he did nothing to stop it and nothing to punish the guy doing it.  Let's take this one step further - suppose she had died.  Would he think that he did nothing wrong then?

Honestly, this is the craziest thing I’ve seen posted today. I trust that Dave Biddle has someone close to the situation, but a few things seem very odd: 1) Urban being part of the discussion and influencing their decision. He should have no input. He either accepts the punishment or he resigns. 2) The only “sources” that can honestly know are the BOT and Drake. Anyone else must have heard second hand and may have an agenda. 3) Drake can do what he wants. He’s the boss and Urban can’t force him to change his stance.

How amazing would it be if the Prez went to the podium and resign? These are education institutions and he behavior demonstrated deserves consequences independent of who the employee is. It would be him showing he has the balls and drop the mic on his way out

Wow, just wandered over to 11W, the idea that those people had a smidge of perspective and rationality has been utterly destroyed. Most have clung on to the notion that Drake is behind the holdup and want him crucified. It’s all his fault.

Biddle again getting more info from behind a closed door meeting. My guess is he is in the air vents listening to the whole thing.

You don't get it. Meyer is not saying "You can't fire me." They can absolutely fire him right now. He's saying "I will not accept a suspension" (my words via sources). Either fire me, or reinstate me immediately. Big difference from what you portrayed. https://t.co/NIWjRdSody
