Is There a Basketball Version of Victory Muppets?

Submitted by Huckleby4Heisman on

Doesn't the basketball team deserve their own unique version of the "victory Muppets" commemoration? I think a win on the road at Clemson is more than deserving of some kind of celebration, regardless of how strong that Tigers team might be. It's been a long time since I've seen a Michigan team look as good as they did tonight in a hostile building. It could just be that we've got Clemson's number (see our 2009 NCAA tourney win), but I was still impressed. Anyone have any suggestions as to some distinct way to honor such occasions?

The importance of Beilein's taking our youngsters to Europe cannot be forgotten. Against two quality opponents, away from home ( vs SU in Atlantic City, @ Clemson), the team has performed admirably.

Having such a young squad get experience over in Europe was a great idea, and it seems to be paying off as we're playing above our years, and in environments where youngsters usually do not perform well.

Kudos to Beilein and the AD for allowing the kids such an opportunity.

Agreed about the Europe trip.  It was invaluable and probably overlooked by many, I know the announcers haven't mentioned it at all.

It's amazing to think that we are possibly two posessions vs. Syracuse away from being undefeated right now with possibly three quality wins (Syracuse, GaTech, and Clemson).  I think UTEP was a bit of a trap game for them, and their speed/athleticism also played into our weaknesses.  If we had beated Syracuse, I think it's very possible we could have won that Legends championship.

Regardless, I like the relative consistency this team has shown.  They do have their turnovers and dry spells, but at a macro level at the end of a game you get a good sense of where this team is.  Most young teams are like rollercoasters..not so (not yet).  Knock on wood.

Thanks, those muppets were oddly appropriate.

Non-conference wins against power conference opponents don't grow on trees.  Smotz was almost perfect, Hardaway hit some shots, Darius Morris did everything.  Michigan looked more fluid on offense than they did with Manny et al.

the LA Clippers practice facility. I was there for a coaching clinic. I know, that's like taking defensive coaching advice from GERG, but the facility was sweet. In my next life, I'm coming back as an NBA player.

They played a great game. Morris is going to have at least 1 triple double this season. He got frustrated midway through the second half and it kind of threw him off, otherwise he would have had one tonight. Wait until Morgan gets come confidence in his mid-range jumper and is allowed to ask for the ball down low. They could be good.
