He's thinking of entering the NFL in the supplemental draft.  No idea why he's thinking about it right now.

EDIT: The link is dead but MGoShoe found a different link which is a similar story.  Kudos to MGoShoe for providing this link.  http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/04/11/terrelle-pryor-considering-an-early-jump-from-buckeyes-to-nfl/

I don't know why everyone thinks he can play TE. He hasn't blocked anyone his entire career and he is a soft QB in who avoids contact on top of that. I know there is a place for receiving tight ends, but you have to be somewhat physical and have basic blocking techniques. No team is going to take a flyer on situational tight end who can't block. Maybe a WR....and that's a big maybe

OK - as of last year, Pryor was listed at 6'6" and 233lbs.  And we all know how well he can run.  That will be enough for a team to take him and turn him into a TE.  Maybe he needs a lot of coaching on how to block, maybe you use him primarily as a receiving TE, maybe you split him out half the time anyway.  Either way, his size and speed are worth taking a bit of a risk on.

I don't disagree with you that he has some major flaws that could keep him from excelling in the NFL.  However, you can bulk up a player and teach him how to block, or tell him that he'll make twice as much money if he can figure out how to block.  You can't teach a guy to be huge and fast.

I was under the impression that the Vest represented the highest of integrity, oh wait....

"For whatever reason, the source told NFP that whether Notre Dame wide receiver Michael Floyd enters the supplemental draft."

What does that even mean??  It's not even a complete sentence, and because of it I'll trust the person that originally posted this rumor as far as I can throw him.

he went to tOSU to improve his NFL prospects over Michigan and Penn State. He's done well at tOSU statistically and won a lot of games.  Mentally, I still think he's a basket case that won't hold up well against NFL defensive ends and secondaries. I can't wait for his first personal introduction to Troy Polamalu.

If I were in Pryor's shoes, I'd bolt too. His coach basically coerced him into staying for another year and is now in a position to get fired himself.

Regardless of what was said publicly, we all know Tressel told the tatgate players that he'd badmouth them to the NFL scouts if they left Columbus early.

Guys cut him some slack, going pro is a good choice for him right now. I mean he's going to make a real nice 3rd string tight end for about a year or two. The four or five teams that he plays for in that time will really appreciate his services.

UPDATED 2:59 p.m. ET: Adam Jardy of the Buckeye Sports Bulletin tweeted the following shortly after NFP’s post, further casting doubt on the report that has Pryor considering making himself available for the supplemental draft.

“Talked to someone very close to Terrelle Pryor who told me he has never once mentioned the Supplemental Draft. Stop that rumor right now.”

TP should sign up for the draft today... The 2011 Canadian Football League Draft is less than a month away!

Renaldo Sagesse is the 16th rated player in  the 2011 CFL Draft!

Let him go. College doesn't need him for another year....but I'll think about how it would go

For Pryor staying, while this class looks average at QB with Gabbert, Locker, Dalton, Mallett, Newton, Kaepernick, Ponder, etc, I think next year's class will be weak.

Besides Andrew Luck who has to "Jake Locker" us to not be drafted #1 next year looking at the rest of the slate I'm seeing next year's QB class is....

Kellen Moore, Brandon Weeden, Case Keenum, Jacory Harris, very likely Landry Jones, Ryan Tannehill, Zach Collaros, Ryan Nassib (who I had completely forgotten about existed during the offseason), Kirk Uncles, Dan Persa, Dayne Crist, Ryan Lindley, Nick Foles, Steven Threet (yeah right), possibly Darron Thomas, possibly Matt Barkley, John Brantley, Jordan Jefferson, Chris Relf, Bryant Moniz.

Top 5 will be something like Andrew Luck, Kellen Moore, Landry Jones, Ryan Tannehill, John Brantley (not entirely based on ability but mostly based on how next season will go)

None of these have the running/throwing mix capability of Pryor or are as skilled at it. If he comes out in this supplemental draft and teams are looking for a running type QB and look at Pryor versus Kaepernick, Newton, Dalton, and Locker who have had pro days and the combine to show off their stuff I don't think Pryor measures up favorably.

Of course, if he doesn't get to play much next year because of some other OSU QB gets a really hot hand by the time he comes back or OSU is 0-5 (hopes) and irrelevant on the national scene maybe people will forget what he can do.

The QB class next year will still be strong enough that no one will waste a first round pick on Pryor - probably not even a second round pick.  Keep in mind that a couple other guys who could come out are Robert Griffin and EJ Manuel, both will be RS juniors this fall, both should be starters, and both would be picked over Pryor if they come out, especially for a team looking for the mobile QB type.

Not to mention all the pro-style QBs you mentioned like Luck, Moore, Brantley, Barkley, Weeden and Jones.  Or whoever ends up being the Andrew Luck this fall and decides to enter early.

This might sound like a dumb question, but could he still play even if he enters? I mean, it seems like one would not give up their amateur status so long as you haven't received any money.

Pryor isn't going anywhere.

Even after his five-game extension he'll still get a chance (barring injury, additional suspension or other unforseen circumstance) to play at Nebraska, at Illinois (chance to go 4-0 in career), Wisconsin (chance to go 3-1 in career), Indiana (chance to go 4-0 in career), at Purdue (chance to go 3-1 in career), Penn State (chance to go 3-1 in career) and at Michigan (chance to go 4-0 in career).

And then, if Ohio State ends up with a better Big Ten record than Wisconsin, Penn State, Illinois, Purdue and Indiana, he'll get a chance (again, barring injury, additional suspension or other unforseen circumstance) to play the winner of the Legends Division in the first Big Ten Championship Game, to win his fourth straight Big Ten title (and second outright title).

If he QBs OSU to a win in that game -- and maybe if he doesn't -- he'll get a chance to play in his fourth straight BCS game and win his third straight BCS game.

So, sure, he QBs Michigan's rival and he exercised some bad judgment during his time at OSU. He got suspended for five games for selling his awards. He says some ridiculous shit. He may not make a great NFL player (even though that's why he chose OSU and Tressel over Michigan and Rodriguez).

We don't have to like him, and most people don't. But it is ridiculous to question his college football talent. He has dominated Michigan during his time at OSU and has a chance to be the first Buckeye to beat MIchigan four straight years. I respect his football ability and will be glad when we don't have to play him anymore.

Sadly, that's not a huge accomplishment.  A ton of QB's have dominated us the last 3 years.  Mediocre QB's have dominated us.  QB's making their first ever starts have dominated us.  In the 3 years Pryor has been at OSU, we have fielded 3 of our worst teams in school history with the worst defenses in school history.  2010 having the worst D ever.

I don't think the idea of going 4-0 against us had anything to do with Pryor's decision to come back.  He doesn't give a crap about the rivaly.  If he did, he wouldn't have sold his gold pants.  And that fact alone makes me want to see Blue pound him in the ground more than any dumbass comment he has made.
