Ten Quarterbacks Who've Got 'Next'
Here is the LINK from 247sports
And here is the text:
John O’Korn, Jr., Michigan — This could seem like cheating, but the Houston transfer will sit out this season, after which he’ll have two years of eligibility. Expect coach Jim Harbaugh to help O’Korn (6-4 220) re-find his mojo: O’Korn had a great freshman year where he threw for 3,117 yards and 28 touchdowns before dipping as a sophomore and losing his job to Greg Ward, a more mobile option. Korn was the No. 31 pro-style quarterback in the 2013 247Sports Composite.
Cool to see some O'Korn appreciation, sometimes it feels like he is the forgotten candidate for next season because he has to sit out this year. Long way away, but I'm really looking forward to the QB battle in 2016.
He would have been an afterthought if not for Harbaugh.
but, lost his starting job, and has the chance to compete for a starting job at a top program. Pretty attractive option with or without JH.
Here are said highlights:
I hope for both our sakes he suceeds
Chaka Khan singing and I believe the percussion is Outkast, but yeah this is "Through the Wire" without Kanye.
I was pretty sure about Chaka Khan but I looked and the drums are from "Player's Ball (Extended Remix)" by Outkast.
Kanye's MO is to sample heavily when he produces. I think he's got a very good ear for that kind of thing and it usually ends up sounding great, but didn't want to just leave it at "that's Kanye" because it is a little more complicated, especially without his vocals.
Definitely not someone who knows it all, wasn't trying to sound like someone giving lessons. I agree with you.
Yeah, the vocal is straight from the chorus of Chaka Khan's "Through the Fire" pitched way way up (also per Kanye's usual M.O.) Kanye loves to take records that were pressed at 33rpm and play them at 45 and sample the result.
My favorite sample where Kanye does this is "Two words" from the College Dropout album that that pretty much takes all of the instrumental parts from Mandrill's Peace and Love played at 45:

I strongly disagree with this comment.
JOHN
O'KORN
He looks like a guy with great coaching could really be special. He has the tools. That play where he broke Van Noy's tackle was something.
you were going to make a bold statement, but reconsidered.
He has an NFL arm
Watching him hit receivers in stride and knowing that the next Michigan QB will be at least that good.
Peters v Malzone v Gentry v O'Korn v stud recruit we haven't heard of yet.
Countdown to Kickoff 2016 is gonna be sweet.

on his own Iowa team. So it is possible Morris can do it too.
then why Iowa fans prefer Breathard over Rudock? Just curious
Remember most fans wanted Henson to start over Brady!
It is easy to look back and wonder why a future NFL hall of famer was in a QB battle at college, and say that he should have been the guy. But the fact is that Henson was better at the time. Might be why Brady is so good today, being pushed by competition.
Would love to see Morris succeed but I'm not optimistic he'll beat out Rudock this year or Gentry, OKorn, etc. next year. Sure he hasn't received ideal coaching and hasn't been on the field a lot. But he couldn't beat out a Gardner and, when he has been on the field, has never looked promising (other than a cannon arm). His best throw ever was the TD pass in the Spring game (which was against a 5'8 RB in single coverage.)
Henne, Gutierrez, Richards. Crazy.
I have a feeling he will be the starter next year.
At a minimum he provides us with continued stability at the QB position. Once Rudock is gone O'Korn will be the only player on the roster who has even led a drive that resulted in a TD pass (34 of them, in fact). Not one other player on the roster has a single one of those to his credit.
Assuming no one but Rudock throws a TD pass for us this year, that is.
But yeah... sounds bad either way.
I've felt like O'Korn is probably the man next year for a while now. I'd love for Morris or someone else to really jump out at us between now and then, but if no one does I still feel like O'Korn will be a good one.
No drives resulting in TD passes though, which is what I posted.
How many more points is a passing TD worth compared to a rushing one?
What's the expected point value (or change in win odds) resulting from an interception?
Obviously it depends on where the INT is thrown, but on average I think it's 4.5 points if I remember correctly.
