Tate Forcier WDFN interview

Submitted by qbwaggle on
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but WDFN interviewed Tate Forcier on Tuesday morning. WDFN podcast of the interview is up if you want to listen to the kid speak. Nothing really super informative, they talk about the Beav briefly and then lots of cold weather jokes. It's just nice to finally put a voice to the highlight reels. http://a1135.g.akamai.net/f/1135/18227/1h/cchannel.download.akamai.com/…

Oh shoot. He says he wants to be like Colt McCoy and claims to have better arm strength haha. I dunno about that but if he gets anywhere near as good as Colt im down with whatever he says.

Tate does let one interesting nugget slip during the interview. He said that the Michigan coaches expected Beaver to de-commit at some point. With that in mind, as well as with Beaver's shoulder injury, it probably stands to reason that the coaching staff had been making some alternative plans for life without Beaver. Errrr.....

Kid sounds confident- which is what our team needs now. A player who believes in himself and possibly a leader would be great. I'm really hoping this guy does great for the up coming season and beyond

Yea, a lot of times I end up talking to commits about playing scared. This whole class thinks they can come up and make plays right away, without hesitation. I think he said this before somewhere else too, but I was talking to Teric Jones about this. I told him just to go up and don't play scared like they did this year. He said, "I'm from Detroit, I'm not scared of anything."

Tom, that Teric Jones quote is awesome. But it's also a good sign. I felt like the team either played scared, or with a real lack of confidence from years past.

His confidence increases my confidence. Good to hear. I was afraid that since he was home-schooled that he wouldn't have a leaders mentality, but he sounds confident and intelligent: both qualities of a leader.

I love his attitude. I can't wait for this season. I expect Threet to start with Forcier to get regular reps at the start, not just when Threet is bad or injured.

He sounded exactly like I thought he would. And his laugh is totally So Cal surfer dude I just think he is so much more talented than Threet. He's the game one starter in 2009. He'll outplay Threet and Sheridan in camp and come out the starter. He just has to stay healthy (Please God)
