Hello all yee Michigan faithful.  I am a big Michigan football fan, born and raised in Detroit, and now live in ohio (i hate everyday of my life here but it pays my bills). I have just recently stumbled over MGoBlog about 2 weeks ago.  I haven't been able to go a day without checking up on the newest chatter.  One thing that is something i would love to know is this reference to Taco Pants? im in the dark here and was wondering if i could get some insight on its meaning, if its allowed of course. Thank you all, you will see from me again...

It's in the FAQ.  To paraphrase:

Tacopants joined the squad during the 2005 season.  He is Chad Henne's imaginary friend, who has apparently been introduced to Threet.  Made of dreams, invisible to referees and blessed with infinite eligibility, Tacopants is, by some estimates, anywhere between 8 and 11 feet tall.  He has a habit of slipping onto the field at the most inopportune times and posing as a receiver.  So all those balls that sailed over Jason Avant's head in '05? Complete to Tacopants!

Tacopants went the way of man blocking in 06-07 for the most part, as Henne, you know, got good.  However, he has made a triumphant return this year, gaining dual eligibility for both Michigan and Wisconsin this week.  He reportedly was upset over Threet's habit to overthrow even him, and decided to trade in his wings for a W and play for Allen Everidge.  With Travis Beckum on the bench for much of the game, he quickly became Everidge's favorite target.

So to be brief, Tacopants = really high throw.

If you go to the "about" link at the top of the page you will find the mgofaq (which I recommend reading if you are going to be as obsessively reading Mgoblog as the rest of us)....or click here.

BTW - it appears that Tacopants transferred to Wisconsin for that 2-point attempt!!  LOL.

Tacopants is.........

"Tacopants"? Tacopants is Jason Avant's eleven-foot tall imaginary friend. Chad Henne spent much of 2005 hitting him between the numbers, which are unfortunately eight feet off the ground and made of dreams. Blessed with infinite eligibility and the ability to sneak on and off the field without alerting the referees -- made of dreams, remember -- Tacopants has taken a lesser role in the offense as Henne matures but still pops up at inopportune times. The term has its genesis in this post.

So what was Mallett's invisible nemesis called?  You know, the invisible defender who kept stripping him when he tried to take the snap?

I think that guy transferred to Wisconsin and was playing on their special teams unit yesterday (although it's hard to tell him apart from his brother, who plays on ND's special teams).
