Super Bowl Prediction, Winter Storm Watch, BBQ and Beverage Thread

Mates

We are just about a week out from the Super Bowl.  It'll be indoors in Atlanta with the NE Bradys playing the LA Rams.  The Bradys are favored by 2 1/2 points. The over/under is 57 1/2 points.  I saw some of the other things people can bet on such as MVP, who scores first TD, half time predictions, and many others.  Rather creative.  They say 80% of the folks are picking the Bradys.

Saturday night BBQ and beverage thread is not to be forgotten.  BBQ is lit and we have burgers, lamb loins and peppers going.

Winter storm headed our way, maybe yours too.  Looking like a foot and a half of snow or more starting tomorrow.  Sons split and stacked wood and the wood stove is stoked.

3 Questions tonight:

1.  Whose your pick in Super Bowl 53?  What other predictions do you have about it?

2.  What is on the grill tonight?  In your cup?

3.  Storm coming your way?  Prepared for it?

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend despite the hockey team's first period.

Yeah, I was thinking the same about Walz on Wednesday. The latest report I saw said to expect -60 wind-chill Tuesday night. It will be glorious, just like Mother Russia!

Doubt I'll make it to the game. Will be coming back from La Crosse for work Friday afternoon, and we have a 2-day volleyball tournament next weekend. I just hope they're done by 5 on Sunday so I don't miss kick-off.

1. Go Pats.

2. Marinating some prime rib burgers w/ homemade steak sauce/louisiana hot sauce/ weber Chicago steak rub for tomorrow. Sippin' on a vodka/soda mix right now. Might switch to an Avery IPA later tonight.

3. Weather is supposed to be in mid 50's tomorrow here in Colorado (Boulder Co.) so the plan is to grill those burgers that are marinating right now. Cold spell and snow hits on Monday so going to take prime advantage of the grill tomorrow!

1.  Pats - think it will be close

2.  Makers Mark - okay bourbon

3.  78 degrees tomorrow.  Tired of SoCal in that aspect.

how do you bbq bourbon?  must be tough...

and kidding aside, of the many things i missed while living in socal, weather was definitely one of the things. it almost always felt hot in socal.  i missed cold, and leaves turning, and snow, and spring, and all the rest of it.

1. Brady & the Pats of course!

2. Fireball with Vernors so my wife doesn’t get too mad at me.

3. Always ready for snow. Over here next to the lake, when it dips under 15 degrees, it ALWAYS snows. Uuuugggghhhh... we got another 5 or 6” last night.

Thankfully we’ll be watching Brady win from Marco Island next Sunday night. ?

Go for two

1) NE 30-28, late TD by NE wraps it up. 2) Buffalo wings from Anchor Bar in Rochester. 3) still shovel by hand, garage is crowded and can’t justify buying a snow blower for once or twice a year big storm

Sunday morning

Rams just to be different.  (Pulling for Patriots)   There will be more punts than last year.  Maybe 4 more than last year.

Goulash in the slow cooker.  Will serve over noodles tonight. (My comfort food.  Wife happy to step back and let me do it.)  Coffee in my cup.  Put Anchor Steam Ale in my fridge.

It will be a cold week after about a half foot of snow.  Go to work early or work from home if the snow starts early.  Shovel and bundle up for cold week.  Heading to FLA in a few weeks.

I’ll watch the super bowl, but I am not sure who I will be rooting for. One thing noticeably absent from LA roads are those stupid car flags that LA front-runner fans have. Whenever the Lakers or Dodgers make the playoffs, out come the car flags. I haven’t seen any so far for the Rams. Maybe that’s why they left in the first place.

Next weekend will be a busy one for my wife. She’s organizing a Chinese New Year party at the badminton club on Saturday and of course there will be a Super Bowl party there on Sunday.
