Sunday night drinking thread.....

Sitting in a cabin with a bottle of red for the wife and a bottle of Jameson for me in Steamboat Springs Colorado.

Family is beat after spending the last few days on the slopes. My lovely wife and I are headed for the hot tub.

Thank you for all the great reading over the past few months.

...while I made dinner, and a couple of glasses of a mellow Rioja with the scallops. Jealous that you're in Steamboat, even with iffy conditions. Love Steamboat...had a place there for several years. Until I lost it in the divorce. C'est la vie! At least I have the Two Hearted

I'm pounding back some New Holland and I just cracked some Hopslam because I need to drink to forget that I messed up with a fantastic woman I've been dating and hope she forgives me for being an idiot.

Very pleasant beer. I needed a break from studying for my math test tomorrow. I know most of you are pretty solid when it comes to numbers, but not this guy.

By this guy, I mean me, and this guy needs a more beer.

Lived in Minnesota for years. I actually miss the place. No one knows cold and snowy like Minnesotans. Makes you tougher. Also the summer sunsets at 10pm are pretty sweet. Okay I'm just realizing I might enjoy Canada. I should go to Vancouver. Oh, to answer the original question, macallan 18 Edit-this is supposed to be in response to the Minnesotan conversation above. Screw you, Internet.

2007 August West PN Rosella's vineyard

This Mike Weber thing is driving me nuts.  He has unfollowed Alford on twitter now... No way he goes to OSU. They would eat him alive now. He didnt reaffirm in time, and his window to put out the fire and have everything happy has passed. Any guesses what happens next?

Are you familiar with August West? Showing great--it's a special vineyard.

Had a 2005 ROAR Rosellas the other week. Having worked with the fruit, the Francioni family takes great care of their vineyards-- Gary's, Rosella's, Sierra Mar, and Sobranes.  When you have such great vineyard management its so easy to make good wine. That fruit comes in clean.

Familiar with the VY. Like the Santa Lucia Highlands stuff. Especially Gary's. Those '07s came out big and brash. Have some of the 07s from around there stashed. Do you do Cellar Tracker? Good resource but I haven't kept up much for a few years ( I am FieldingYost).

Cellar Tracker is cool. I dont have an account, but check it from time to time.  Funny has it-- I talked to the Franscionis today about buying some Garys' vienyard fruit for this fall. He has a long waiting list, but might be able to get me a ton or half off the books.  Amazing vineyard. Would love to score some.

After a day of soccer, touring the indoor domes of Southeast Michigan, I broiled some chicken (rubbed with Detroit Spice Co. BBQ) and am now enjoying the evening with Atwater's Winterbock.  Tasty.

I've been sipping on Los Alamos malbec while trying to avoid the Grammys, although I did tune in just to make sure that it was surreal as Twitter was making it out to me, at least for a few moments. Indeed, for once, Twitter was accurate in that respect. Between dresses that look like they will be used to mark off excavation sites tomorrow and hairstyles that remind me of Wednesday's donuts for the staff meeting, it's a bit much for me. I decided to catch up with "Broadchurch" instead.

Whiskey and watching the 30 for 30 about the 1980 Soviet Hockey team. Of course Slava Fetisov has a hot daughter.
