Give UK credit for hitting that huge 3 to take the lead, but so many muggings under the basket not called. Oh well.
Elbow to the face?
Since when did it become a judgement call? Manny Harris got ejected when he wasn't even trying to hit the guy with his elbow.
When Kentucky/Duke/Louisivlle are involved.
Go for the two. Unless it's Early with a clean look.
Really late on he timeout there. Three seconds is tough to get a layup from a front court inbound play.
Not sure of there has been a walk off buzzer beater this tourney yet - maybe it is time?
Texas. Do you go for the win here?
Texas/ASU. Not a jumper but still a buzzer beater.
My bad - for some reason I just don't feel like that stacks up to the epic walk offs
It was definitely not epic.
This tourney has been fun, but I have been missing the handful of buzzer beaters (I.e. Down by one, guard takes it coast to coast and hits the winner) that there usually is - also, the Texas game was tied, I am missing the make it or go home shots - The closest thing that sticks out right now is the 4 point play, which was awesome, but not a winner.
Seems like you could get to that spot to call a TO a bit faster than nearly 4 seconds.
If you're going to call a timeout, why dribble it up? Throw a quick pass into the frontcourt to save time.
Have a feeling this will end badly. Don't see the officials making a call on UK (they haven't for the last 5 mintues)
I wonder if WSU saw out play for GR3..
Yet again a team goes for three when they only need a two..
Teams go for three when down 1 now days. It's atrocious but I'm getting numb to it, unfortunately.
Not a horrible look, but I can't think that's what they wanted as a first option.
Feel awful for WSU. A 1 seed should not have to go on the road in the 3rd round. Its really a joke.
Said this when the brackets came out, it looked like the committee was sending a message "so, you think you can play with the big boys, here is Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan/Duke - oh and we are going to make you travel farther than all of them"
I don't know if any team could have beaten Kentucky the way they played today.
So now if we win Friday, we get a road game in the elite 8
It's really not that had. It's close enough that anyone who wants to go from AA can go pretty easily. Just gotta buy up the tickets.
I know it's closer to Louisville, but it's not exactly a far drive from Ann Arbor either. And with our fan base, I'd be shocked if we didn't have just as much representation as Louisvilke or Kentucky.
We'll have a solid turnout, but I fully expect to be outnumbered. UK and UL fans live and die basketball and they're used to traveling en masse to regional sites - they do it every year - whereas we're just getting back in the swing of things in that regard.
It won't be as bad as a genuine road game, but I'd bet it'll be like 70-30 against us if we play in the Elite Eight.
Also, look for uk or ul fans rooting for us to win. Especially if uk beats Louisville.
Luckily our team had won in some of the most hostile arenas on the country: the Khol Center, the Breslin Center, and Value City Arena.
Indy has a big Michigan presence. There are also a lot of Indiana fans who hate Kentucky. The X factor is that college basketball is all there is in Kentucky.
At least we get a shot at Louisville/Kentucky for the final four if we get by Tennessee/Mercer. I would want to beat no one else.
Kentucky's size and athleticism is scary. It now looks like they have learned how to play too.
Kentucky doesn't play defense. Russ smith is louisville's only scorer and is prone to bad shots/turnovers. I don't mind playing either team
Wisconsin, a two seed gets a home game, and the Shockers go on the round agains an underseeded Kentucky. #neutral court.
Wichita State shouldn't have been a 1 seed anyway. No shock that the first time they play legit competition they lose. Losing to an 8 seed out of the SEC is embarrassing
Jim Nance is putz. That shot was off before UK player "closed quickly." Just a meh look from too far away.
Yuck. Their first loss had to be to Kentucky.
Still to play a team with thatt much talent that close says they're very well coached.
Should have been Early's shot.
WSU botched the end. Between letting 3 seconds run off before the timeout, and then going for an unnecessary HeroBall 3 to end it. I'd take my chances for OT and try for the tie. Especially with the time constraints...easier to hit a two under pressure than a long 3.
Albert calling the UNC ISU game I keep thinking it is an NBA game......cornfusing
remember when Marv Albert bit up some woman??
Was hungry
Tennessee's bigs aren't athletic.
two tough outs. Both UT and Mercer look pretty dang serviceabvle from a talent perspective.
