People always say that this year's results have more affect on next year's class than the upcoming one. Are there any big 2018 kids you think could be surprise commits if this year continues to be as good as it has been?

1. The number of kids getting extra benefits isn't as great as we believe it is (or at least not widespread among the kids who would be disgruntled)

2. It's so widespread that they are given an incentive to not talk

3. Players probably have friends still on the team and don't want to impact their former teammates

If forced, I would choose 3 as the most likely scenario.

"Uh excuse me, NCAA? Yeah my family lives in poverty in a really bad neighborhood and this school that is already one of my top 5 schools handed me $10,000 and said that if I came to play for them, they'd move my family out of the ghetto and into a nice suburb near the school." You really think they're gonna rat out the school (although usually it is boosters who do it, not the school itself, and oftentimes the school is unaware at first).

Rison/Spartans seem to think ambry thomas is a silent commit. Sam thinks we are the team to beat longer term. What of early playing time/recent results/relationships at each school/other factors weigh more?

Meaninng a top flight kid whose name we have heard nothing of to this point that may end up in the class.  I'd imagine with this team's successes and some rivals' hardships, there may be a few.

Looking at the numbers it looks like both tackle positions will be wide open. Is Drevno basically expecting 3 of the 6-7 incoming linemen to play immediately and balance out these classes?

If Ambry Thomas is indeed "out" does the staff turn up the heat for Holmes? Any other CB's out with Michigan high on the list?

He's not "out." Lavert Hill's situation was pretty much a parallel to Ambry Thomas' current situation. It will be a battle until the end no matter what Sparty says.

Also, remember what Steve's said in the past - Silent commitments are not commitments.

How much attrition is to be expected from the current commits?  Is Harbaugh doing anything different this year to avoid a Swenson type of situation from last year?

see a lot of questions about Ambry Thomas being a strong MSU lean? I haven't seen anyhting come out that suggests that except for him taking a visit. Am I missing something or is it board paranoia?
