Stay positive tonight ..plz

Submitted by ralphgoblue on

Back in December if someone wouldve said Michigan is going to play in the National Championship game vs the best team in NCAA, we wouldve all jumped on that in a heart beat. With all due respect to Virginias great season,i think most people would say Villanova is the best team in college basketball

Of course we all want Michigan to win (i picked the Wolverines 79-68)  but if Nova is on fire it will be a hard task to win this game,we have seen Michigan go thru a few shootting slumps,we need 4-5 guys to be on fire to win this game.So no matter whats happens, plz dont jump all over Coach Beilein or the players,(like we always see in game threads)  these guys are about to face a great college basketball team

Win or lose this has been one of the greatest seasons in mens basketball history !!!

GO BLUE !!!!

my bipolar self on the game thread tonight. Michigan started their run against Loyola after I switched to all caps, so I'll keep that in the back pocket should things start going south.

I honestly don't think your fears are warranted.  This team has already exceeded our expectations and now they're going to work on making our dreams come true, as well as their own.  Only the very small minority of idiots would pile on them should the worst happen during the game.

At which time, they will be treated thusly...

No matter what happens tonight, this season has exceeded anyone and everyone's expectations. If they lose tonight, they have nothing to be ashamed of, and neither do we as the fans. This season was supposed to be a "Sweet 16 is the absolute ceiling" type of year, with a boatload of talent on the way for a potential run next year. Instead, they're playing for the fucking national title. Without a single 5 star or All American anywhere on the roster.

Win or lose tonight, this team is way ahead of schedule, and they can be locked and loaded for another run next year. Hats off to Coach Beilein for one of the best coaching jobs in America. This might be his best year here. In 2012-13, he had NBA talent all over the roster. This year, he has a fraction of that team's pure talent.

I know beating Villanova tonight is a tall order, but there is not a single man in America who deserves to bring home a title more than him. He's spent his entire career doing everything the right way, and after the shitstorm of scandals this sport has had this year, college basketball needs a champion like John Beilein right now.

Our team is in the national championship.  It's been a GREAT season.  Spartans, Buckeyes and the rest of the country (aside from Villanova) are all at home watching the Wolverines play.  Knowing that RCMB and the buckeyes have been bleeding from the eyes screaming against them while they win makes it even better.

Win or lose this has been an INCREDIBLE season. No one thought we'd be here.  This is house money with a team that was supposed to be just a transition from pieces of a team to the "real players" who start showing up next year.  It's also going to set expectations sooooo high for next year!  :) :)

Win or lose I love my team.  Go Blue!!

Win or lose, sane fans will see this season as an amazing, unexpected success. Most on here will lose their minds, hopefully in a good way, but I'm not that worried about the threads--we're big kids. The issue I have is the Tweetters and Insta-texts and My Faces where 13 years old kids off their Ritalin will send idiotic texts. Those are viewed by potential recruits, and are annoying, but not much you can do about idiots other than wish them well, send out a bit of metta and block them.

Curious what jerseys we rock tonight. Personally I hope for blue. Mix it up. Last time they wore those they crushed Purdue and cut down some nets!!

How can this ever be your pregame attitude? We all know everything written here. What do you get from begging for compassion and understanding for a great season before the game even starts?

This is loser talk -- all the way.

I cannot understand this type of pregame sentiment on the day of a national F-ing championship.

it's all gravy after that.

House money.

This year and team have been an absolute joy; Coach B and the entire team have done us proud.

Go Blue!

If we lose, the Maizen-type grumblers who've been forced into the root cellar since the beginning of the conference tournament will suddenly begin to surface, muttering that Beilein can't win the big one, that he doesn't recruit well enough, that we shoot too many threes, or not enough of them, etc etc ad infinitum ad nauseum.

The response should be swift and merciless.

You know, sports fandom may be one of the few places where one can totally work out how it is possible to do too much of something and also not enough of the same thing simultaneously or in close succession. It is kind of like when people complain about manangers being too quick to pull starters, but then also chiding them moments later for not doing it sooner.

totally agree with OP. we have been playing with house money for 2 weeks now. enjoy tonight. win or lose we get an awesome banner and ton of great memories from this post season. would a national championship be insane? absolutely! but this season has been an outstanding success by any standard. keep it classy.

what.  Only one winner.  Michigan has won alot of titles already this year.  I think we will be good on O and NOVA is due to level out after their last game.  Limit their 3s and I think we win this with great 2 point shooting and enough 3s to keep them honest.

Agree, need more than just Mo and Matthews.  Everyone needs to step up.   Get it started with tough D and get this into the 2nd half.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
    But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

Shit, your avatar succeeded at distracting me.  Did you post something about being nice?

Seriously, whatever happens this season exceeded my expectations by a long shot.  A championship would be REALLY nice though!
