The state of the defense

There has been a lot of talk out there that our defense is not moving in the right direction due to more than a lack of quality personnel. Many have mentioned that RR has forced GERG into an unfavorable defensive scheme for the Big Ten. My question, therefore, is do you feel that with the right personnel our defense will be able to compete with best defenses in the country? Would we use the 3-3-5 if we had better defensive talent and is RR and company making the right recruiting decisions to get us there?
